
Training Specialist, I
Overview of Role/Job Purpose:
The Training Specialist I will be responsible for delivering product functionality training to both VertexOne clients and employees, ensuring that everyone is well equipped to use VertexOne products effectively. This includes updating training resources with new features, tracking training class details and project phases, delivering training course surveys, and providing instructional support to clients. The Training Specialist I will also be responsible for updating informal and formal learning resources using a variety of methods.
The Training Specialist I will possess excellent analytical and communication skills and use a combination of various teaching methods and learning management tools to cater to various learning styles. By developing skills and resources to help individuals reach their potential, the Training Specialist I will contribute to building client and employee satisfaction and ensure the successful implementation of VertexOne products.
Essential Job Duties:
- Update both informal and formal learning resources using a variety of methods.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, business analysts, and functional leads to prepare training resources and ensure content is accurate and relevant.
- Provide clear and concise information to internal and external contacts across all communication formats (Email, Teams, Jira, phone calls, etc.).
- Conduct virtual and in-person training sessions to core project teams, including preparation, delivery, learner support, and appropriate follow-up.
- Communicate training issues and needs to the Director, Technical Training.
- Complete all reporting (individual tasks, project details, project training needs, etc.) accurately and on time.
- Treat all colleagues and trainees with dignity and respect.
- Demonstrates reliability, preparedness, and a positive demeanor that reflects well on the training organization.
- Provide instructional support to clients to assist them in developing a successful end-user training plan that meets their business needs.
- Support and deliver training to core project teams and end-users as needed.
- Occasionally, travel to support clients onsite for end-user training (10% or less).
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have 2+ years of working experience in the Utilities Industry (Regulated and/or Deregulated) using a Customer Information System (CIS).
- Working experience with one or more VertexOne products is a plus.
- Adequate knowledge of learning management software (BizLibrary, Kahoot!, Udemy, etc.) and editing programs (Camtasia, Snagit, OBS Studio, Vimeo, etc.).
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Adequate knowledge of the training cycle (assessment, motivation, design, delivery, and evaluation).
- Excellent coaching skills and outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Creative, good analytical and planning skills, and excellent presentation skills.
- Able to work independently on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- An ability to learn quickly and provide value when placed in unfamiliar settings.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Listens actively and empathetically to the views of others.
- Demonstrates initiative by identifying potential issues and proactively seeking information to clarify ambiguity.
