Job Summary
The Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky invites applications for the Truist Endowed Chair in Business Analytics. The Chair will provide academic leadership in research, teaching, and outreach, while also serving as Director of the Business Analytics Center, guiding its external relations and research agenda. The successful candidate will be appointed to a 9-month position with tenure at the rank of Full Professor (via expedited faculty review) with a preferred start date of August 2026. The anticipated initial Distribution of Effort will be 20-30% teaching, 30-40% research, 30% administration, and 10% service. This distribution will be reviewed annually.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Direct the Business Analytics Center by shaping its research directions, building industry partnerships, and enhancing its reputation as a hub of excellence.
- External Engagement: Cultivate strong connections with businesses, alumni, and community stakeholders to expand opportunities for applied analytics research, experiential learning, and corporate partnerships.
- Research: Maintain a high-quality, nationally recognized research program in business analytics and engage in collaborative scholarship.
- Teaching: Deliver innovative and effective instruction in business analytics at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, fostering student success in a globally connected and data-driven business environment.
- Mentorship: Serve as a resource for Ph.D. students, mentor junior faculty, and engage students in research and professional development opportunities.
- Service: Contribute to the college, university, and profession through leadership and service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in an appropriate field with significant analytics content such as accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, marketing, operation/supply chain, or statistics.
- Tenured with a distinguished scholarship record appropriate to AACSB Scholarly Academic status, publications in top journals, and an active, ongoing research pipeline.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and program development.
- Experience working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.

- Evidence of building collaborative relationships with industry and completion of industry-based projects.
- Experience directing research centers, academic programs, and external partnerships.
