KCHA seeks a construction and weatherization professional with strong experience who can help us transform lives through housing. A highly skilled, forward thinker will be key to KCHA’s ability to serve our community and support our employees.

The Vice President (VP) will report to KCHA’s Executive Vice President/Chief Development Officer.

This leader will be accountable for the strategic use of federal, state, and local funds to improve an aging but, well-maintained public housing portfolio, to support residential energy conservation, and to expand initiatives to address climate change. They will develop goals, objectives and budgets for the department and oversee the implementation of budgeted projects and programs. KCHA is unique among public housing authorities as an administrator of the Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program, which offers this leader the opportunity to combine funding from multiple sources to maximize improvements to housing in traditionally underserved communities.

KCHA seeks a strategic, senior professional with contemporary expertise and extensive background in residential renovation, new construction, energy conservation in multiple building types, and a strong interest in evolving programs and projects to address climate change. The successful candidate must have an inclusive leadership style, strong verbal and written communication skills, curiosity, emotional intelligence, and an ability to think strategically.

The ideal candidate is a servant leader who will contribute to and complement an evolving culture of diverse and inclusive leadership.
