VP, Fraud Planning

The Role

Fidelity’s Risk and Control (FRC) is looking for an experienced Risk Management professional to join our team in our fight against fraud. The VP of Fraud Planning will lead the efforts to design, implement and maintain an enterprise program that integrates industry leading practices, meets applicable regulatory requirements, and focuses on building firm capabilities in alignment with Fidelity business goals and objectives.

The position is heavily collaborative and works multi-functionally across all lines of business, including Fraud Detection, Recovery, Investigations and Legal, Compliance and Cyber Security, Second and Third Lines of Defense, among others.

As the VP of Fraud Planning, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the design and adoption of the Fraud Prevention Program.

  • Setting, refining, and communicating the team’s strategy and mission.

  • Set the business requirements and minimum standards, guaranteeing adherence to policies and regulations.

  • Communicate, negotiate and influence business partners to assure adequate risk controls are in place.

  • Manage the relationship with partners and key stakeholders. Constantly review and improve the framework.

  • Structure a program that anticipate the fraud pressure, champions transparency and balanced risk assessment, enabling a structured decision-making process.

  • Strong communication, influence, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Has ability to anticipate changes and have positive attitude to them with determination in action.

  • Fraud Risk Management – Deep to commanding knowledge of Fraud risk management principles, how it affects the business and having the ability to apply appropriate risk-based thought process.

  • Information Management – Strong to deep ability to develop, manage, and to use information with insight and innovation. Able to assist or lead with strategic decision making to help the business with their risk and reward discussions.

  • Social Skills – Deep to commanding interpersonal proficiencies to help you interact, communicate, and collaborate with others optimally.

  • Leadership – Strong to deep ability to lead within the team and will be looked upon as the strategic fraud advisor and leader for the supported business units.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing fraud risk.

  • Experience in building and managing Governance, Policies and Risk Assessment programs.

  • Familiarity with cyber fraud, technical threats, technology risk, and privacy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Possess the ability to multi-task across a variety of responsibilities in a constantly evolving environment.

  • Identify fraud trends, red flags and recommend preventive measures to management and business units.

  • Developing new processes, solutions and tools that risk professionals will use to proactively identify risk across the firm.

  • Strong focus on execution and identifying, communicating, and removing impediments to progress.
