Rancher Government Solutions (RGS) is specifically designed to address the unique security and operational needs of the U.S. Government and military as it relates to application modernization, containers, and Kubernetes.

Rancher is a complete open-source software stack for teams adopting containers. It addresses the operations and security challenges of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters at scale, while providing DevOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads.

RGS supports all Rancher products with U.S. based American citizens with the highest security clearances who are currently supporting programs across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies.


POSITION SUMMARY

Software is at the core of almost every US Government system and capability. At Rancher Government Solutions (RGS), it is our life’s work to deliver the most secure, software modernization platform to the US Government and our industry partners. Our hardened software platform is built on top of Rancher, one of the most downloaded open source enterprise Kubernetes platform. As a fast growing early stage technology company, we are looking for think-minded individuals passionate about taking the business to the next level.

We are looking for a talented and passionate individual to lead the RGS marketing team. As the VP of Marketing, you will be a member of the RGS Leadership team and will play a central role in the hands-on design, execution, and management of the company’s marketing campaigns and overall brand identity. You will oversee the RGS marketing team as well as cross-functional teams and contractors, serving as both the strategic architect and a lead practitioner. Since RGS is a high-velocity, early-stage business, you must thrive in an environment where leadership is defined by tactical output as much as strategic oversight. You will also be responsible for hiring great marketing talent, career development, and employee mentorship as we scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the leader of RGS’s strategic marketing direction as well as the brand identity and impact
  • Develop a deep understanding of the dynamics of the US Government technology market Prioritize the RGS marketing team, budget, and cross-functional resources to develop impactful marketing campaigns
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all aspects of RGS
  • Lead RGS product launch strategies and associated plans, including product naming, target audience definition, and marketing platforms
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, customer insights, and new growth opportunities
  • Serve as a thought leader to the RGS leadership team on strategic marketing initiatives that improve brand impact and return on investment
  • Organize campaign plans and metrics into data-driven narratives that empower RGS senior leadership to make enterprise-wide decisions
  • Partner with teams and stakeholders across RGS to design implement and measure content and event-associated marketing campaigns
  • Manage a team of contractors supporting marketing campaigns, event coordination and administration and digital content management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Maintains a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 10+ years of marketing experience in the technology sector
  • 4+ years of direct management experience with demonstrated success leading and motivating teams as well as managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms including artificial intelligence (AI)-related tools
  • Experience managing a cross-functional team including third party contractors
  • Ability to reference a digital portfolio demonstrating work or provide examples of previous campaigns

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Maintains a MBA or a Masters Degree in an related field
  • Experience communicating strategy, implementation plans and results to senior leadership
  • Experience defining marketing strategy and executional excellence
  • Experience with leading marketing teams and conducting campaigns in the US Public Sector technology market or experience leading marketing for a dual use product
