The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The U.S. Consumer Marketing team (USCM) is part of US Consumer Services and is responsible for making membership essential by creating and delivering world class marketing for our differentiated products and services that drives demand and inspires engaged card members across the customer lifecycle. Within USCM, the Marketing, Membership & Investment Optimization team (MMIO) design critical personalization, analytics, investment optimization and planning strategies that enable our ambition to deliver a truly differentiated membership experience, grounded in customer-centricity, data-driven decision making and flawless execution.
The Vice President, Marketing Personalization Strategy within MMIO team will be responsible for the design & delivery of hyper personalized, scalable, omni-channel & compliant marketing across membership. This leader will provide thought leadership and expertise to define business strategy across data, intelligence and personalization. They will also work closely with the Project Flywheel team to develop and deliver the personalization requirements for our modernized marketing infrastructure.
This role is uniquely positioned to leverage a variety of skills including business strategy, digital product management, customer journey/experience design and optimization, marketing and advertising technology, stakeholder management, partner collaboration, and sound understanding of Compliance, Privacy and Regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented individual who has demonstrated strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, the ability to design data driven transformational marketing approaches and execute on those ideas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategy and delivery roadmap for Gambit, with the goal to transform the acquisition experience through personalized value and transparency. This is a multi-year roadmap initiative, with specific focus on redefining acquisition experience & personalization framework
- Define Omni-channel membership marketing strategy and lead multi-year roadmap initiatives to transform marketing capabilities & infrastructure, allowing AXP to better serve consumers across channels and enable consistent & relevant membership marketing.
- Provide thought leadership and expertise to define business strategy for MarTech transformation
- Inform backlog and prioritization of data & intelligence for marketing use cases
- Define business requirements for personalization (targeting, eligibility, governance, controls, etc.) systems and prioritization based on broader flywheel roadmap
- Partner with Flywheel COE on the engagement model between marketing enablement and personalization SME teams
- Define review & approval process & workflows for campaign design, targeting and execution
- Develop roadmap to leverage AI across personalization needs, including intelligence and process enhancements
- Partner closely with a variety of key stakeholders across business units and geographies to ensure transparency, alignment & robust decision making.
- Stay current on regulatory expectations and competitive trends
- Work in a dynamic, fast changing environment, with attention to detail and effective communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of digital marketing ecosystem (products – e.g. CardShop/App, data infrastructure and capabilities, consumer journeys & experience)
- Experience with digital marketing technologies (e.g. real time personalization)
- Experience AXP’s data and campaign technologies, marketing & servicing systems and ability to remove technical barriers in the campaign execution processes
- Familiarity with US data privacy and regulatory landscape
- Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative, actionable strategies to support business goals and optimizing performance.
- Proven ability to influence across multi-functional teams, influence and create meaningful relationships with partners as a trusted advisor.
- Large scale project management skills – ability to handle multiple requests, balance competing requirements, prioritize effectively and pivot quickly
- Strong communications skills with an ability to influence through written and oral means and demonstrated ability to craft a narrative for Senior Level audiences.
- Strong people leader – proven track record of developing strong talent & building diverse teams
- Team player with an ability to support projects outside of immediate scope
- MBA or equivalent degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, etc. preferred.

Salary Range: $176,750.00 to $282,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
