The Role

As Vice President, Workplace Investing ('WI') – Fidelity Consulting you are responsible for overseeing the delivery of strategy consulting projects on behalf of our Workplace Investing Business, which includes Fidelity’s retirement and healthcare benefits business lines. Our projects aim to solve the most critical business issues, and your role is highly valued by WI business leaders to drive critical thinking forward. Your thought leadership, team management, and client relationships help to shape the future of the WI business. In addition, your work as an integral member of the Fidelity Consulting ('FC') management team helps to strengthen our group.

Our Vice Presidents lead strategic projects critical to our WI business. These projects are typically staffed with three to six associates over a four-to-six-month timeframe. As Vice President, you help scope the projects, lead and manage workstreams, and partner with Wealth business leaders to drive successful outcomes.

The Expertise & Skills You Bring

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in the financial services industry, with the strong knowledge of the retirement and/or healthcare benefits industry, customers, and products and services

  • Have worked in one or more areas of the retirement or healthcare benefits industry with direct experience with customers, products, or services

  • The position requires significant consulting experience with multiple years in the project manager role and experience counseling clients/partners, preferably with a top tier consulting firm.

  • You must have outstanding analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, project management and problem-solving capabilities.

  • You have both the flexibility and the skill to lead and contribute to teams.

  • MBA degree or equivalent degree or experience is preferred

  • Experience with project and team management, specifically including strategy development, evaluation of new retirement or healthcare benefits products and services, and business transformation

  • In depth understanding of the retirement and healthcare benefits industry market dynamics, economic structures, competitor landscape, products and offerings and customer trends

  • Understanding of key retirement and healthcare benefits activities including but not limited to defined contribution, defined benefit, stock plan services, and health benefit administration.

  • Ability to synthesize analysis and research into strategic insights and practical recommendations, including strategic analysis, financial analysis, operational analysis and primary/secondary research

  • Capable of influencing and providing strategic guidance to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of researched based conclusions.

  • Ability to bring ideas to increase collaboration between the WI organization and broader Fidelity

  • Ability to assess risk and operationalize findings – turning research into actions

  • Proficient in quantifying challenges and requirements related to execution

  • Driver of decisions in complex environments with multiple partners

  • Adept at leading multiple projects/initiatives at once

  • Skilled in building relationships with peers and executives in a variety of capacities

  • A desire to work with people development and mentoring

The Team

Fidelity Consulting ('FC') consists of ~100 strategy consultants, some like yourself, who are directly aligned to a business unit, and others who move across projects as business need dictates. Fidelity Consulting addresses strategic challenges and opportunities with thoughtful and rigorous analysis, and by providing provocative points of view. As a part of the FC team, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of strategic business challenges – ultimately preparing you for increasing leadership roles at Fidelity.

The base salary range for this position is $130,000-264,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
