Opportunity Overview:

As the Head of Digital Marketing Strategy & Media, you will lead a high performance cross functional team of marketing specialists across digital engagement, marketing and advanced analytics, and social. You are a respected industry leader with strong external relationships and track record of delivering innovative approaches and strategies to media planning and investment to maximize ROI and balancing efficiency and effectiveness.

This role requires experience leading fast-paced project/program management across digital marketing and media agency teams, architecting strategy, leading innovation and holistic thinking while delivering excellent work on time and within budget. The VP will report to SVP, Marketing.

A Day in the Life of the VP, Digital Marketing and Media Strategy:

  • Direct media agencies to make strategic recommendations on media efficiency and efficacy across multiple mediums, platforms, and programs.
  • Lead an internal team of digital marketing, production and creative professionals to deliver integrated digital marketing for B2C and B2B brands.
  • Oversee Social Media discipline: directing and mentoring team members to deliver innovative, highly engaging social media editorial, campaigns and programs.
  • Lead Social Media lane to stay abreast of latest social media trends/best practice to deliver highly engaging content & campaign and grow brand and follower presence.
  • Cultivate innovations within Social Media to collaborate on influencer, Brand Ambassador/Net Promoters, Analytics, Sentiment Management and other programs, as needed.
  • Work in concert with SEO, Content, Web teams; as well as traditional marketing colleagues to collaboratively plan and develop national digital marketing campaigns & programs.
  • Proactively collaborate with SEO, Web and Content Marketing teams to develop holistic digital marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Ensure the brand is properly executed throughout all digital marketing efforts. Be a steward of brand execution.
  • Devise and manage annual budgets, including all OPEX and CapEX expenditures to deliver agency services, creative production, augmentation of team and program innovations.
  • Lead the development of reporting/analytics of organic social media metric/KPIs with Analytics team to arrive at: dashboards, management reports and analytic insights for overall program improvements.
  • Support the management and optimization of Brand assets: images, video, copy, positioning and overall digital marketing libraries.
  • Provide support to the National Storm watch program; support social media, eCare/VOC and other team members on delivery of communications for customer impacting events as needed.
  • Partner with internal marketing teams, external agencies, IT, eCare/VOC and other departments to ensure organic digital marketing programs aligned across teams and synergistic.
  • Hire and retain highly skilled/professional team of digital marketing associates. Mentor and develop team members.
  • Collaborate with Email Marketing discipline.
  • Drive strong connection to insights, best practice, competitiveness and modern innovation in social media presence/branding.
  • Actively support, promote, and advance all aspects of Astound’s Inclusion and Belonging work, recognizing it as a business priority, including creating a work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, heard, and empowered.

What You Bring to the Table:

Experience:

  • 8+ years in Digital marketing and/or agency media buying experience
  • 6+ years managing marketing direct reports and/or media agencies and organic digital marketing programs.
  • 5+ years in a director or senior director role for mid-large-scale enterprises.
  • 4+ years of experience overseeing Social Media marketing for consumer or business brand.
  • 4+years of experience buying traditional media such as broadcast TV, radio, and OOH.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong command of Digital Marketing best practice across: search, social, web, content, SEO via hands on experience and learning.
  • Expertise in full-scale media buying to include TV, radio, and outdoor.
  • Assessing business needs and delivering innovative digital tools.
  • Coordinating and guiding team members to develop holistic solutions.
  • Educating and mentoring stakeholders in digital best practices.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and modern technology trends.
  • Acumen for implementing Digital Marketing programs that work to drive a business and resonate with consumer, SMB and enterprise audiences.
  • Excellent leadership skills to drive a team with positive, supportive vision and humility; Educating and mentoring stakeholders in digital best practices.
  • Expertise in modern marketing technology: databases, web technologies, social media tools, CRM, BI and general office software (Google Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work/communicate with people at all levels of an organization. Strong presentation skills.
  • Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment with an ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines. Ability to manage work within multi-functional teams on tight deadlines.
  • Proven commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Experience in subscription services or telecommunications is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for team meetings

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Major in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Communications or Business preferred.
  • MBA, advanced degree or certifications in project management, digital marketing, or similar is preferred.

Base Salary: The base salary range for this position is $200,000- $215,000 annually, plus opportunities for bonus and benefits, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
