Enterprise Data Risk Management, within the Global Risk & Compliance group, is the independent risk management function focusing on effective management of Data Risks throughout the Data Lifecycle to protect the enterprise from financial loss, reputational damage, loss of competitive advantage, and increased regulatory scrutiny across the globe. Enterprise Data Risk Management is hiring a Vice President who will play a pivotal role in driving the development of the comprehensive data risk management strategy to safeguard our organization's data assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the book of work that enables the strategic vision of Data Risk Management, aligning with the company's overall data risk management practices on data usability, data confidentiality, and data availability & integrity, throughout the Data Lifecycle, for AXP data managed internally and/or at third parties
- Lead interactions for Enterprise Data Risk Management with regulatory agencies and internal audit
- Develop Committee materials related to Data Risk Management
- Drive analysis and impact assessment of data-related Laws, Rules, Regulations, and guidance as well as industry trends to ensure Data Risk is managed in accordance with the applicable requirements and aligns with industry practices
- Champion Data Risk Management communications ensuring alignment with Data Risk Management strategy and broader Global Risk and Compliance vision and mission
- Support the implementation and adoption of Enterprise Data Risk Management policies and procedures in alignment with industry practices and global standards.
- Partner with teams across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Information Technology, Information Security, Enterprise Data Office, and business units to implement effective data risk mitigation strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in data management, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data compliance, and data-related issue management in large, financial services firms
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and manage relationships with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external partners to ensure compliance and achieve regulatory objectives
- Strong program management and transformation skills encompassing abilities critical for guiding and executing significant changes within an organization
- Familiarity with all aspects of the data lifecycle
- Proven experience building and leading diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at the executive level
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex problems and ideas clearly and succinctly to senior management
- Able to effectively manage multiple, and often conflicting priorities, under tight timeframes and adapt to frequent change
- Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization, excellent relationship building skills and ability to influence partners
- Highly organized with attention to detail, sense of follow-through, and accountability
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
