Job Description:
The VP Technology for Fidelity Labs is a strategic and dynamic leader responsible for driving technological advancements and fostering innovation within Fidelity’s startup incubator. Reporting to the Head of Fidelity Labs, this role will accelerate the distribution and time-to-market of new businesses and services across the organization. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in emerging technologies with a strategic mindset and proven ability to lead high-performing teams. You will be instrumental in executing at scale while creating new services for the market, balancing innovation with practical business applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute the technological vision for Fidelity Labs, aligning with overall business strategy while establishing technology standards and best practices.
- Drive ideation, validation, and support for new incubators/businesses; identify and implement cutting-edge technologies while managing pre-incubator launches and participating in technical evaluations for potential M&A activities.
- Thrives in rapidly shifting contexts by quickly ideating, prototyping, and testing new business concepts across multiple projects simultaneously; embraces the dynamic nature of moving between diverse technologies and business domains.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire technologists while managing a centralized team focused on enabling incubator businesses to execute faster through common tech services (DevOps, Fidelity infrastructure integration, cloud services)
- Ensure successful project delivery while managing TPM activities for GTM initiatives; hold indirect accountability for all incubator technical outcomes and provide leadership to incubator technical leads.
- Create technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and establish partnerships with enterprise teams to ensure effective integration.
- Establish KPIs to measure success of lab initiatives; manage cloud resources and technology costs across incubators while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Expertise and Skills you bring:
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with demonstrated success in startup or innovation environments.
- Proven track record developing and executing technical strategy for innovative products from concept to market.
- Deep expertise in software development methodologies, modern architecture patterns, and emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud-native, APIs, blockchain)
- Strong leadership abilities with experience building high-performing technical teams and influencing across organizational boundaries.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Strategic mindset balancing innovation with practical business outcomes and customer-centric product development.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$249,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
