
VP, UX Design Leader, Institutional Wealth Management

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Vice President, UX Design Leader to lead a high-impact design team focused on Institutional Wealth Management. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll build the future of digital experiences across a complex ecosystem of products and services. You’ll guide a team of managers and designers, drive strategic design initiatives, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions.
Financial services experience is preferred. We're looking for a leader who can operate at scale, think strategically, and inspire teams to deliver exceptional, customer-centered outcomes.
Some key responsibilities:
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate complex domains while leading teams to deliver outstanding experiences
- Providing strong leadership for the Fidelity Institutional design team, including managing people managers and collectively leading 30 designers.
- Deep understanding of Institutional Wealth Management Services, with the ability to drive end to end strategy across platforms and technologies.
- Supporting key UX organizational objectives and acting as a change agent to drive significant transformation across product teams
- Identifying and developing strategic design opportunities to drive product and business strategy.
- Collaborating across functions to make pragmatic decisions to increase our speed to market while upholding the quality of the experience so that teams can build towards a better future
- Aligning work of individual teams to broader customer journeys.
- Solution-focused mentality that deliberates and debates challenges in a positive way that gains alignment with others
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10+ years of UX design leadership, including experience leading managers and scaling design teams.
- Experience in financial services, especially within institutional or B2B environments (preferred).
- Expertise in talent strategy, including hiring, resource planning, and team development across large organizations.
- Familiarity with design systems, scalability, and contribution models.
- Experience working in agile environments and promoting iterative, user-centered design practices.
- Understanding of technical architecture and software development fundamentals.
- Commitment to building trust, adaptability, and resilience within teams.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills that bring vision to life and inspire action.

The Team
This role supports Brokerage at Fidelity, a group that helps a wide array of customers with services like wealth management, retirement planning, brokerage services, workplace plan administration, college savings, and financial planning and engagement programs. This role also supports Fidelity’s User Experience Design team, a group that delivers simple and accessible digital experiences to its customers.
The base salary range for this position is $140,000-285,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
