Job Summary
• Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to teach all areas of Welding Technology.
• Commitment to remain current in the welding field and maintain accreditation standards.
• Provide individualized classroom, lab, and field work instruction to postsecondary and secondary students to prepare them for employment in welding fields.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate students’ progress and maintain student records.
• Assist in recruitment and placement of students.
• Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Maintain good public relations with business and industry and develop and maintain an advisory group comprised of industry personnel for continued program improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate Degree preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Evidence of ability or potential ability to instruct all phases of welding. Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills of gas metal arc (MIG), tungsten inert gas (TIG), shielded metal arc (stick), oxyacetylene welding (gas), flux core welding, flame cutting, blue print reading, plasma arc cutting, grinding, brazing and soldering.
