Job Summary
The Coordinator for Work-Based Learning will manage a variety of work-based learning programs across the college, including internships established and maintained with industry partners. The coordinator will engage industry partners, work with stakeholders to finalize internship agreements, recruit students for internships, prepare candidates for the hiring process and provide ongoing support to both interns and intern supervisors. In addition, the coordinator will help administer on-campus student employment through recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training and supervisor support. Ability to work with data, manage complex processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders are key.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
1. Collaborate with industry partners to establish work-based learning agreements with records in the College’s Salesforce CRM
2. Coordinate Illinois Cooperative Work Study internships and the ICWS grant
3. Recruit interns and assist candidates with resumes, cover letters and interviews
4. Assist students in searches for internships and jobs using digital tools
5. Attend site visits to internship partners and evaluate internship success according to institutional learning objectives
6. Document work-based learning outcomes for co-curricular assessment
7. Provide mentorship and support for interns, including connecting them with other RVC campus resources
8. Facilitate hiring of student workers
9. Assist with trainings for student workers and supervisors of student workers
10. Revise and update handbooks and other documents for student workers and student worker supervisors
11. Liaise with faculty and academic units for the awarding of academic credit for work-based learning
12. Work closely with RVC personnel in CTE (Career Training and Education) units and job-readiness roles
13. Aid in data collection, processing and reporting through Salesforce CRM
14. Assist in establishing and managing sponsored pathways and other “learn and earn” arrangements with industry partners as needed
15. Represent RVC Career Services at community events, present to student groups and lead workshops
16. Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.
17. Regular attendance is expected.
18. Other duties as necessary
19. Occasional travel may be required, including overnight trips, to attend meetings, events, or site visits
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher
· Valid Driver’s License
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· At least one year of experience in higher education, human resources talent acquisition or a related field.
· Familiarity with CRM or data management systems
