We are seeking a passionate and experienced Workday Data & Reporting Analyst to join our HR Technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining advanced reports and dashboards in Workday to support data-driven decision-making across HR and other business units. By leveraging Workday’s reporting capabilities, this individual will ensure AutoNation’s HR team is equipped with accurate, actionable insights that align with enterprise goals and priorities, fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making.

We are looking for an inquisitive professional with strong analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of Workday’s reporting capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to partner with cross-functional teams. This position plays a key role in elevating AutoNation’s people analytics strategy and ensuring HR data is a trusted resource for decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate
  • closely with internal HR teams as well as key stakeholders (payroll, finance, operations, etc.) on data analysis.
  • Work with management to create KPI and metrics reports. Analyze and interpret criteria for complex reporting requests from end-users and functional leads.
  • Develop and maintain Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports and dashboards within Workday Report Writer utilizing Workday Report Writer, Worksheets, Discovery Boards, and Slides, as well as other tools as available.
  • Build, automate and maintain Workday custom reports, alerts, and dashboards based on key metrics identified by leadership.
  • Produce and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc reports from Workday HCM.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development of reports and dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date report writer procedures. Execute data and report validations to support ongoing quality assurance processes.
  • Create report index to easily identify reports corresponding to key metrics.
  • Respond to case questions and prioritize requests and collaborate with functional leaders to ensure report requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain the catalog of available standard and custom reports, including calculated fields in related business objects.
  • Proactively monitor best practices and make recommendations to update/build reports as needed.
  • Perform ad-hoc data extraction and reporting requests in a timely manner to support urgent business needs and decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of data ownership and accountability within the HR department.
  • Stay up to date on HR data trends and best practices in data governance.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and tools to improve data management and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Workday reporting and analytics to deliver accurate and actionable insights.
  • Proficient in Workday Report Writer, Advanced Reports, Matrix Reports, and Discovery Boards.
  • Familiarity with the Workday object model.
  • Experience working within or supporting a Human Resource organization or Center of Excellence (COE).
  • Skilled in creating, editing, modifying, and optimizing calculated fields to enhance data analysis and performance.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of HR data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting large data sets to effectively communicate insights and meaningful narratives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Proficient in Workday Report Writer, Advanced Reports, Matrix Reports, and Discovery Boards.
  • Experience with Workday Prism.
  • Workday Pro or Workday Reporting Certification.
