
Workplace Financial Consultant - San Jose, CA
Job Description:
This role requires you to live in the San Jose, CA area, as you will be on the local client campus 4-5 days a week.
The Role
As a Workplace Financial Consultant (WFC) you will work directly with plan sponsor contacts, client HR representatives, and internal Fidelity partners. As a part of Fidelity's Workplace Education Planning & Advice organization, your goal is to drive greater participant engagement and plan sponsor advocacy in our local workplace communities. Employers who have chosen Fidelity to administer their 401k, 403b, Equity Compensation and assorted benefits plans often require help driving engagement in these valuable programs. You will be conducting ongoing engagement planning with your plan sponsors and serve as a key liaison between internal business, including our local branch partners.
In addition, you will provide financial planning and investment advice to participants through face-to-face 1:1 meetings, workshops, help desk sessions, benefits fairs, and lunch and learns. Your goal is to ensure participants are prepared to make better decisions regarding their personal finances all while keeping the customer top of mind. Topics may include, estate planning, equity compensation, stock plans, tax efficient investing, and more. Content will be delivered via Zoom or onsite at the plan sponsors desired location. Travel could be up to 75%.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 5 years of financial services experience
- Series 7 and 66 required (or S63/S65 combo equivalent) required prior to hire
- In depth knowledge of Financial Planning Concepts
- Ability to build plan sponsor advocacy and access
- 2+ years of customer facing experience preferred
- Life & Annuity Certification preferred
- CFP® or CRPC® preferred
- Demonstrated advanced presenting experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $121,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
