Follow:&nbsp;LinkedIn,&nbsp;Twitter,&nbsp;Instagram,&nbsp;Facebook, and&nbsp;YouTube.</p><p>The<strong> Payroll Specialist&nbsp;</strong>will maintain the integrity of payroll and timekeeping to ensure accurate information for reporting of payroll data.&nbsp; Be responsible for the daily update of management reports, financial report, provide&nbsp;supports with the accounting entries for month-end functions, and automate payroll tasks where applicable.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Check error log and fix any errors and then send the AR and GL files</li><li>Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; verify that all time sheets are approved by the appropriate level of authority; track and deduct all employee purchases and other special payroll deductions</li><li>Monitor the processing of new hires, employee status changes, terminations, and other employee processes for appropriate accuracy of payroll</li><li>Monitor overtime and report fluctuations periodically to management</li><li>Ensures payroll is executed accurately and timely by partnering with human resources and management</li><li>Investigates any payroll discrepancies</li><li>Processes any manual or off cycle payments, employee reimbursements, pay card payments, termination pay as needed</li><li>Consult with appropriate party on discrepancies, problems, and issues involved in the payroll process</li><li>Forecasts payroll payments to Finance Manager and other members of management, and liaise with the accounting team on all payroll related reconciliations</li><li>Work closely with Human Resources to maintain compliance with company policies</li><li>Run queries utilizing payroll software, research and answer all payroll related questions</li><li>Provides accrual time off reports to HR and management</li><li>Assist with journal entries and balance books of accounts</li><li>Perform SOX controls and internal controls</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;Basic Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university</li><li>+3 years of professional experience in payroll processing</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.&nbsp;Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.&nbsp;Visa sponsorship is not available for this position</li><li>This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications and Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field</li><li>Payroll experience in a manufacturing environment&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with payroll and time and attendance system(s), preferably Workbrain</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Exhibits a strong commitment to dependability and reliability; ability to gain the confidence and respect of the customer base and holds a high degree of integrity, understanding the importance of sensitive and/or confidential information</li><li>Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and related computer skills</li><li>Demonstrates aptitude to work independently using analytical thinking; possesses a strong understanding of business processes to deliver requested output timely and accurately</li><li>Experience managing multiple complex projects and delivering under tight deadlines and resource constraints.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple large projects and interact with all organization levels</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to work on site full time in Torrance, California.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits/Salary:</strong></p><p>The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation.&nbsp;Howmet Aerospace curates a strong working environment through opportunities for career progression, community engagement activities, and flexible schedules contingent upon role and location.
