The team manages all financial transactions, ensure compliance with Harvard University policies and procedures, and serve as a resource for administrative challenges, helping offices develop effective solutions or processes when issues fall outside their areas of expertise. Harvard Medical School is somewhat unique among peer institutions in that it does not own its own hospital. Instead, it relies on affiliated clinical faculty at partner hospitals to deliver much of the MD curriculum, which adds complexity to organizational and administrative responsibilities.Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will independently manage key responsibilities related to teaching compensation, financial analysis, and general administrative operations. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and problem solver, capable of developing compliant, sustainable solutions — and knowing when to escalate issues as needed.Key Responsibilities -Teaching Compensation:&nbsp;<ul><li>Manage a portfolio of course reports across all three phases of the MD curriculum (Preclerkship, Principal Clinical Experience (PCE), and Post-PCE), which includes reviewing and identifying faculty exceptions, verifying compensation eligibility and compliance with guidelines and allocating teaching payments to appropriate departments/organizations and calculating the final compensation.</li><li>Serves as a subject matter expert and resolves issues raised by affiliate departments and make necessary corrections or adjustments to teaching reports.</li><li>Onboard faculty who are not paid through affiliate hospitals to the HMS payroll system; provide regular updates to the Senior Director.</li><li>Generate and distribute quarterly communications to faculty regarding teaching compensation; research and resolve related inquiries.</li><li>Prepare quarterly and ad hoc analyses on teaching compensation for the Senior Director.</li></ul>General Administration:&nbsp;<ul><li>Manage a portfolio of PME offices Financial Aid, Dean for Medical Education, Anatomical Gift Program, and Medical Education, which includes Faculty Development, Evaluation and Assessment and Curriculum Administration by serving as a resource, establishing and documenting processes to create administrative efficiency and liaising with other departments at HMS or central offices of the University.</li><li>Manage HMS Academy's annual fellowship program: advise applicants, troubleshoot administrative issues, and establish post-award processes.</li><li>Manage faculty appointments for leadership roles within the PME, which includes onboarding or draft service agreements, tracking status and creating roles in PeopleSoft.</li><li>Manage the MD RA program and onboard student teaching fellows</li></ul>Financial Analysis:<ul><li>Prepare accurate, timely financial analysis, projections, and reports for the offices of Financial Aid, Health Sciences and Technology, Anatomical Gift Program, and Medical Education for all sources of funding. &nbsp;</li><li>Review and reconcile financial aid endowment accounts; analyze discrepancies and ensure student scholarship distributions align with fund terms.</li><li>Lead the management and reconciliation of the parking reconciliation and patient gift cards.</li><li>Serve as a resource and provide guidance on university policies and procedures for the offices of Financial Aid, Heath Sciences and Technology, Anatomical Gift Program, and Medical Education by devising compliant options/solutions.</li><li>Review and establish or approve financial transactions for designated offices. Manage the set up of TouchNet products and outside billing using the accounts receivable system.</li></ul> Qualifications Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>5 or more years of experience.
