Adjunct Faculty, Medical Assisting

Applications for adjunct lab technician positions are accepted continuously and reviewed by the department if openings are available. Adjuncts are hired on an as-needed basis. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer. Job Summary
This is a full-time position in the Early Childhood Education program. The Child Care Aide 2 is under close supervision under the Director and Lead Teacher. The Child Care Aide 2 is responsible for implementing program, goals and classroom objectives, and performing related work as required for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Assists in directing and directs activities of children in program.</li>
<li>Assists with supervision of small and large groups of children.</li>
<li>Assists children with self-help skills.</li>
<li>Work with individual children on specific tasks and helps with serving meals and snacks.</li>
<li>Helps in planning and developing each day’s activities.</li>
<li>Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials.</li>
<li>Records, evaluates, assesses and updates regularly class attendance, etc.</li>
<li>Attends all related training and seminars.</li>
<li>Attends all parent related activities, conducts or assist with parent conferences.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>One (1) year of child care experience.</li>
<li>Early childhood Education Child Development Credential (CDA) or higher is preferred.</li>
<li>Applicant is required to obtain CDA within 6 months</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of instructional methods, materials and program operations for six (6) weeks to five (5) years.</li>
<li>Knowledge of recreational activities associated with creative play.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the psychological and biological needs of children.</li>
<li>Ability to make decision, both within and without the guidelines of established procedures.</li>
<li>Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.</li>
<li>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, children, and other employees.</li>
</ul>
