This position will primarily provide primary care specifically for the Ryan White grant-funded patient services at The Bluegrass Care Clinic, which serves as one of four federally funded Ryan White HIV/AIDS Clinics within the state of Kentucky. Since 1990, the University of Kentucky Division of Infectious Diseases has provided a continuum of HIV primary care from diagnosis to end of life to over 1,300 persons from central and eastern Kentucky. A team of physicians, recognized for their treatment of HIV disease and board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Infectious Diseases, staffs the Bluegrass Care Clinic. In addition to providing patient care, these physicians are actively engaged in HIV teaching, training, and research, and serve as co-investigators for all University of Kentucky HIV clinical trials. Physicians are aided by nurses, pharmacists and other clinicians to deal with the complex management of infectious diseases.
