Predoctoral Research Associates will assist with the daily operations of academic projects in a variety of fields, such as competition, management, and innovation. Research often draws heavily on applied econometrics and microeconomic theory. Primary Duties:<ul><li>Develop and maintain expertise in new research methodologies and techniques.</li><li>For quantitative roles, Predocs will manage and manipulate data using requested packages, such as STATA, Python, R, or MATLAB.</li><li>For behavioral roles, Predocs will manage and manipulate data using qualitative research tools, such as Qualtrics and MTurk. In addition to teaching, this position will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of our programming for various partners and support the training of volunteers who join our teaching team. Collaborates with the MEDscience team to deliver schoolyear and summer programming. Instructs students in medical skills, terminology, and scientific literacy (training provided).</li><li>Program Coordination: Coordinates the programming for at least 20 partnering high school classroom teachers for the fall and spring semester courses: discuss logistics, individualize program curriculum calendar, provide program materials, monitor completion of required paperwork &amp; surveys.&nbsp; Coordinates within the MEDscience teaching team: establish roles for each session, responsible for the set-up and breakdown of session materials. Provides support and training as needed to partnering high school teachers, interns, and volunteers on the MEDscience curriculum and pedagogy. Supervise student survey administration ensuring 100% rate of completion.</li><li>Teacher Training:&nbsp;Trains newly hired teachers and volunteers on the curriculum, meeting ahead of class sessions to run training and observing classes to provide feedback.</li><li>Curriculum Development:&nbsp;Assists in refining written materials for pedagogy evaluation, and other documents needed for program expansion. Additional Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.&nbsp;7+ years of relevant experience or post-secondary education.3+ years’ experience in advanced statistical programming using Stata or R.Additional Qualifications and Skills:&nbsp;Master’s degree preferred.5+ years experience in statistical programming preferred.3+ years experience supporting social science research projects preferred.Experience with Bayesian estimation, machine learning, natural language processing, cloud-based computing, and/or Artificial Intelligence strongly preferred.Experience with managing and analyzing large datasets, scaling processes, developing data architectures, and developing R packages preferred.Experience with version control software (such as Git), code reviews, and unit testing preferred.Ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences and to develop analyses and visualizations that convey key findings clearly.Demonstrated creative ability to solve challenges in novel ways using state-of-the-art statistical and data processing techniques.Experience working with K-12 or postsecondary education data a plus.&nbsp;
