Title: Instructor, Cyber Security- 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction on a variety of computer science topics including a variety of computer programming languages.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach computer science courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid, virtual or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox.
Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Assurance or Networking; OR, Associate’s degree in Cyber Security/Networking with three (3) years’ industry experience
Experience with Python, UNIX/Linux and Microsoft OS
At least one relevant industry certification, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Security+, CySA+, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Cyber Security
College level teaching experience
Experience with Cloud Computing, Networking, UNIX/Linux

Job Duties

Title: Instructor, Mathematics – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides support to students who require assistance operating the College’s learning systems. The tutor should be familiar with and capable of demonstrating how to use the various technologies commonly used by students at the College. These tools include myNSCC, D2L, the Office 365 suite, Zoom and digital textbooks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide both virtual and in-person assistance for students seeking guidance using digital course tools. Monitor and record attendance during scheduled hours. Collect feedback from students to inform future support efforts. Refer students needing additional assistance to the appropriate resource(s). Maintain professional and consistent communication with Learning Center Coordinator. Host workshops on digital course tools during peak times of the semester. Attend all mandatory trainings as part of the larger tutoring team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An associate’s degree or higher

Provide assistance to the Distance Education and Teaching and Learning Center departments by scheduling meetings, travel arrangements and maintaining the Distance Education and Teaching and Learning Center calendars and websites. Maintain the HelpDesk Ticketing system and support faculty, staff, and students by providing technical support for our learning management system, video conferencing, and classroom technology.
Job Duties
• Greet faculty, staff, and students and answer telephone requests with general instructions

• Serve as department manager of the online HelpDesk ticketing system
