ResponsibilitiesHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an EHS, Engineer&nbsp;at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Fullerton, CA. &nbsp; Responsible for managing programs, policies and practices related to Health, Safety and Environmental.&nbsp; Acts as the facility coordinator and contact for internal customers and external agencies for all matters pertaining to EHS.<ul> <li>Ensure Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements.&nbsp;</li> <li>Supports location EHS Manager in the overall EHS process implementation and oversight.&nbsp;</li> <li>Supports development and implementation of the EHS management system.</li> <li>Writes procedures, administers requirements, and conducts recordkeeping.</li> <li>Investigates all EHS incidents.</li> <li>Coordinate the development of systems to ensure incidents/quarterly metrics are kept per guidelines.</li> <li>Assists with site emergencies (spill response/guidance/coordinating training)</li> <li>Ensures compliance with all EHS regularity requirements and per company standards.</li> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of EHS Management Systems including but not limited to ISO14001:2015.</li> <li>Provide oversight for effective EHS internal Audit Self-Assessment Program.</li> <li>Provides direction and oversight for the respective EHS Single Point Accountable (SPA’S)</li> <li>Coordinate EHS training programs and provides training for employees as needed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Establishes permanent EHS files for all units under their control. These files must follow company policies and procedures for records administration and retention.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in investigation teams as required to assure prompt, thorough incident review and makes appropriate corrective action recommendations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participates in continuing professional education. This means staying current and competent in the respective EHS profession through seminars, courses, literature review, etc.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepares and submits reports and other required submittals as assigned to company and all local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead and offer guidance to site team on risk assessment and risk prediction to mitigate risk of task-based activities as well as facilitate safety team meetings, problem solving teams/meetings and EHS planning meetings within the organization.</li> <li>Support location on continuous improvement projects to reduce EHS risks.</li></ul>Additional Skills and Abilities:<ul> <li>Knowledge of general OSHA Regulations, Fire Department Agency&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge of Environmental Permits: CUPA, RCRA, Sanitation District Permits, South Coast AQMD, Water Boards, Los Angeles Department of Public Works,</li> <li>Knowledge of Health and Safety Programs (i.e., Powered Industrial Trucks, LOTO, Fall Protection)</li> <li>Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools.</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Occupational Health &amp; Safety or Environmental&nbsp;</li> <li>5 or more years of experience in the field of Environmental, health and safety or 4 years of EHS field experience and 2 years of field experience in continuous improvement / project management.&nbsp;</li> <li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
