Professor to build the Mining Engineering ProgramThe College of Engineering (CoEN) and the Department of Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering (MMBME) at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invite applications for a faculty position at an advanced rank to begin in the fall of 2025. Has mastered all four components (CSB/ADA, TRB, Bulk Ramp and TSDF) and can work in any area while maintaining operational proficiency.</li><li>Lead, direct and coordinate all team member activities to achieve team goals.</li><li>Interface with other Lead Material Handlers to achieve team goals</li><li>Manage site waste generated in work area.</li><li>Create maintenance work orders to insure upkeep of equipment.</li><li>Resolves remedial work orders or other environmental concerns and completes closure requirements</li><li>Responds to spills as required</li><li>Manage leaking boxes in a timely manner, making temporary repairs as necessary.</li><li>Provides routine manpower for box storage areas for housekeeping, RCRA, TSCA, and safety related items.</li><li>Maintain department housekeeping standards and is responsible for the effective upkeep of all tools, equipment, and facilities.</li><li>Interfaces with contractors and internal departments to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve problems and special requests.</li><li>Operates forklift, backhoe, rolloff truck, gradall, other heavy equipment and power hand tools.</li><li>Assists emergency coordinator in emergencies.</li><li>Prepares numerous logs and reports for tracking purposes.</li></ul> Qualifications Education / Experience / Background: <ul><li>High School diploma or GED</li><li>Minimum two year hazardous material processing and/or handling</li><li>Minimum one year heavy equipment operation preferred</li></ul> Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: <ul><li>Ability to communicate through reading and writing</li><li>Trained in the use of material handling equipment</li><li>Work in loud, cold, hot, wet and dry environments.</li></ul> Required Certification / Licenses / Training: <ul><li>Valid Driver's License</li></ul> Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Successfully complete drug screen and pre-employment physical, safety sensitive background check.</li></ul> Additional Information Benefits: Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental and vision insurance.
