Description Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located at the Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off. &nbsp;The Nuclear Materials Performance (NMP) division performs post-irradiation examination (PIE) of structural materials and advanced characterization of irradiated materials. &nbsp;For this position, most work activities will be performed in the Structural Properties Laboratory (formally called the Sample Preparation Laboratory). &nbsp;This is a newly constructed hotcell that focuses on PIE of structural materials. &nbsp; The job will focus on robotics and their use in a radioactive environment. &nbsp;This involves programming the robots to perform standard functions, free mode robotics use, development of tooling and techniques to increase robotic efficiencies, and machine learning/artificial intelligence associated with robotics. &nbsp; Other functions include but not limited to support engineering of hotcell tooling and equipment. &nbsp;This includes troubleshooting, hot cell modification of equipment, and development of tooling to support hot cell operations. &nbsp; This job works with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
