Job Summary
This is a full-time, faculty term appointment within Emergency Medical Technology program. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations. 
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepares and delivers lectures on topics in EMS program.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, assignments, tests, and papers; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking advice on class work, assignments, papers, and others.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records.</li>
<li>Maintains current license/certification in profession.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>Advises and counsels students in academic and career fields.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Associates degree at an accredited institution.

<li>Current unencumbered Tennessee Paramedic License with Faculty member/Coordinator endorsement

Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Minimum of two (2) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment 
</li>
<li>Current provider credentials in Pre-Hospital trauma life support or international trauma life support, basic cardiac life support, healthcare provider, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support or pediatric education for pre-hospital professions 
</li>
<li>Minimum of two (2) years EMS education administration or greater than 300 hours of EMS instruction </li>
