Summary

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician who understands and respects the values of our tribal communities. Together, staff will provide care that meets the needs of the community and offers a meaningful and culturally responsive experience for both patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities
  • Provide training in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, and toileting
  • Instruct patients in the safe and effective use of assistive and adaptive equipment
  • Support motor, cognitive, and fine motor skill development
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust activities within established treatment plans
  • Document therapy sessions accurately and communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising OT
  • Assist patients across the lifespan maintaining or improving independence at home, school, work, or in the community

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications

  • Licensure: Associate degree from ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Clinical Fieldwork hours
  • Passing of NBCOT
  • State licensure/certification
  • CE for Certification
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA)
  • Immunizations: Based on client need
  • Experience required: Based on client need
  • Schedule: Based on client need
