      Adjunct Instructor Orientation (Pool)
    

The Patrol Officer (Police Officer 1) supports students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors by monitoring activity on campus for the purpose of maintaining peace and enforcing laws and supports the college by ensuring a safe educational and work environment. TCAT Henry-Carroll, McKenzie Campus is the home campus for this position. However, officers may be required to occasionally perform duties and functions at other DSCC or TCAT campuses.&nbsp;
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs foot and vehicle patrols of campus to preserve the peace and enforce the rules and regulations of the college, state, federal and local laws, directs and manages vehicular traffic, secures and unlocks campus areas as needed.
Responds to calls for service; investigates motor vehicle incidents, criminal offenses, and non-criminal incidents; and takes appropriate law enforcement or investigative action.&nbsp; Monitors and reviews security camera recordings to assist in investigations and to ensure safety for the campus community.
Conducts investigations of crimes or incidents committed or occurring on campus; seeks out and questions victims, witnesses, and suspects; develops leads and tips; searches crime scenes; analyzes and evaluates evidence; arrests offenders; prepares cases for giving testimony and testifies in court and disciplinary proceedings.
Assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed and otherwise protects and serves. Assists with emergency planning for the campuses.&nbsp; Participates in emergency management and safety training and coordination. Conducts safety equipment checks as assigned. Maintains Tennessee P.O.ST certification by attending training as necessary.&nbsp; Attends additional training as required and needed for the college and department.
Develops and maintains a positive and professional rapport with local emergency response agencies representing the college and department in a professional manner.

      Campus Police Officer TCAT McKenzie
    

This is a full-time, fiscal year contract in the Division of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies and will be primarily stationed in the Dyer County, TN area. This position is grant funded.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach an equivalent of 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in a combination of eSports, Computer Information Technology, and/or Business courses.
Coach the DSCC eSports team.
Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).

      Adjunct Instructor Philosophy (Pool)
    

: Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Geography adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes. The applicant will also attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to the established deadline, and will communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes as appropriate to their assigned chair/dean. This position reports to the Chair of Humanities/Social Sciences and the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies.
Requirements of the Position
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses for discipline in Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time.
Working Conditions: Sedentary: Desk work; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement.&nbsp; Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in Geography. &nbsp;
Ability to communicate effectively with students and other college personnel required.&nbsp;
