Salary Level 4 Full-Time Non-Exempt Typical Hiring Range: $21.53/hr. to $27.19/hr.To be considered for this position, candidates must complete an application by visiting gspairport.com/careers.Position Summary (Primary Function)Responsible for painting, drywall repair, tile repair, carpentry repairs, and minor building repairs for the Airport’s facilities. Also responsible for assisting Maintenance Technicians in the general maintenance of all Airport facilities and equipment including but not limited to: basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building repairs.Responsibilities (Essential Functions)<ul><li>Participates in safety programs and safety training and has a total commitment and compliance with all company safety and environmental policies.</li><li>Responsible for various painting needs of facilities to include interior and exterior surfaces (walls, doors, railing, bollards, industrial equipment, etc.).</li><li>Assists other technicians when needed and assigned.</li><li>Performs drywall installation, finishing, and repair.</li><li>Performs prep-work for painting tasks.</li><li>Performs minor fabrication work and repairs.</li><li>Responsible for ceramic tile repairs and installation.</li><li>Assists with minor repairs of lighting and other electrical components including lamp replacements.</li><li>Performs inspections and preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Completes PM forms and reports all problems to the supervisor.</li><li>Responsible for minor plumbing repairs.</li><li>Responsible for logging all repairs, materials, and time on completed work orders.</li><li>Assists with cleanup of pre-assigned areas and workspaces.</li><li>Assists with snow and ice removal activities.</li><li>Performs other duties necessary to keep the Airport operating safely and efficiently.</li><li>Responsible for setting an effective pace and for minimizing interruptions in the completion of tasks.</li><li>Will be required to work without direct supervision in an effective and safe manner.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Education Requirements<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li></ul>Experience Requirements<ul><li>Two (2) years of experience in commercial painting and building repairs.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>Must have a thorough knowledge of and exercise judgment and planning in selecting and using materials, tools, and equipment in industrial painting.</li><li>Must have knowledge of industrial paints, primers, and coatings.</li><li>Have a working knowledge of installing, finishing, and repairing drywalls.</li><li>Must have knowledge and experience operating power tools and equipment to perform industrial maintenance.</li><li>Must have sufficient skills to assist with the installation and maintenance of equipment such as door closers, standard lock sets, light fixtures, restroom fixtures, and other industrial facility equipment.</li><li>Must have the ability to understand and communicate orally and in writing and be able to prepare clear and concise records.</li><li>Must be physically able to operate a forklift and aerial man lifts.</li><li>Must be able to read, understand, and follow equipment operating and instruction manuals.</li><li>Must have the capacity to plan and anticipate so that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner.</li><li>Proficiency in the use of a personal computer is necessary, including skills in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.</li><li>This position requires skills in prioritization, organization, verbal communications and interpersonal relations, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul>Supervisory Responsibility<ul><li>None at this time.</li></ul>Licenses Required<ul><li>Valid Driver’s License.</li></ul>Certifications Required (Must have or be willing and able to obtain)<ul><li>None at this time.</li></ul>Latitude/Independent Judgment/Accuracy<ul><li>Diligence must be exercised when handling confidential information.</li><li>Reasonable care for equipment/process will prevent injury/damage.</li><li>Responsible for own work but must coordinate work with others.</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Physical Demand - Must be physically able to use the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required of the job. Worker will be exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow, and icy conditions. Works near mechanical and electrical equipment, risk of electrical shock. Exposure to flammable, toxic, and caustic chemicals. Exposure to heights and will be required to work from ladders and lifts. Must possess the ability to perform strenuous physical activities, engage in sustained physical exertion, and perform arduous work under adverse conditions. Must maintain physical fitness pertinent to the work. Frequent bending and stooping. Will be required to lift objects up to 55 pounds without assistance. May be exposed to noise levels greater than 55db. All necessary Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by the Airport.</li><li>Mental and/or Visual Demand - Mental and visual demands are high and vary with function performed. Consistent mental attention needed to respond safely and efficiently. Frequent work or travel in or near roadways, parking areas, and aircraft ramp areas require constant vigilance of vehicular, aircraft, and equipment traffic.</li><li>Attentiveness to work procedure will reduce potential risk of injury in work areas.</li><li>Exposed to normal office environment and normal aviation environment.</li><li>This position requires uncommon tours of duty to include but not limited to weekends and holidays, rotating shift assignments, and overtime duty.</li><li>Will be subject to recall after normal duty hours.</li></ul>Other Requirements<ul><li>Must be able to complete and pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination as per Federal, State, and GSP Airport District requirements.</li></ul>The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District is an equal opportunity employer.
