      Adjunct Instructor – Water Quality Technology 
    

The Patrol Officer (Police Officer 1) supports students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors by monitoring activity on campus for the purpose of maintaining peace and enforcing laws and supports the college by ensuring a safe educational and work environment. The Henry County Campus (HCC) is the home campus for this position. However, the officer may be required to perform police duties at the other DSCC campus locations.&nbsp;
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs foot and vehicle patrols of campus to preserve the peace and enforce the rules and regulations of the college, state, federal and local laws, directs and manages vehicular traffic, secures and unlocks campus areas as needed.
Responds to calls for service; investigates motor vehicle incidents, criminal offenses, and non-criminal incidents; and takes appropriate law enforcement or investigative action.&nbsp; Monitors and reviews security camera recordings to assist in investigations and to ensure safety for the campus community.
Conducts investigations of crimes or incidents committed or occurring on campus; seeks out and questions victims, witnesses, and suspects; develops leads and tips; searches crime scenes; analyzes and evaluates evidence; arrests offenders; prepares cases for giving testimony and testifies in court and disciplinary proceedings.
Assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed and otherwise protects and serves. Assists with emergency planning for the campuses.&nbsp; Participates in emergency management and safety training and coordination. Conducts safety equipment checks as assigned. Maintains Tennessee P.O.ST certification by attending training as necessary.&nbsp; Attends additional training as required and needed for the college and department.

QUALIFYING JOB STANDARDS

Must be currently Tennessee P.O.S.T certified or P.O.S.T certified in another state and must be in good standing. (NOTE: P.O.S.T certified law enforcement officers (LEOs) from another state, or in-state LEOs with a break in service of more than three (3) years but less than seven (7) years, or LEOs who attended an approved basic law enforcement school but, hired two (2) years after the completion of training will be required to attend the Tennessee P.O.S.T approved transition school within the first six (6) months of being hired).
Must meet or exceed the minimum standard requirements as per TCA 38-8-106.

Title: Project Reroute Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY The Coordinator of the Nashville State Project Reroute oversees a support program for justice-impacted learners attending main campus locations as part of the Correctional Education Initiative. Programming and services aim to support the college’s 2030 vision, which focuses on increasing persistence rates (Fall to Spring retention), retention rates (Fall to Fall retention), and 3-year graduation rates. This aligns with Nashville State’s Vision of achieving equitable outcomes for our varied community of learners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as an academic and career advisor and advocate for cohort students. Work with subpopulation students to address barriers to admission. Collaborate with academic affairs, admissions, student success initiatives, and financial aid to address barriers specific to justice impacted students. Connect cohort students to appropriate resources both in and out of the college.
Creation, implementation, and scheduling of periodic workshops for students to address topics including but not limited to: software training, study skills, career and goal planning, financial literacy, mental health/mindset support. Create, implement and supervise peer-mentoring program. Develop and disseminate outreach materials both internally and externally to the college. Coordinate with the Webmaster of the college to create and maintain a Reroute webpage. Collecting and managing data to complete annual institutional effectiveness efforts. Act as point of contact for community partners and/or prospective students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Two (2) years’ experience working in a higher education setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Two years’ experience working in a higher education setting
Prior work experience at a community college
Prior work experience with justice impacted individuals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to manage a caseload of academic and career advising. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate records. Proficient Microsoft Office and database management skills. Ability to build effective working relationship at all levels across the organization. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a varied community.

      Project Reroute Coordinator
    

Job Purpose: To provide excellent customer service to current and prospective students, parents, co-workers, and other visitors in the Financial Aid Office. Assist students with general questions concerning Columbia State Community College and specific questions concerning financial aid electronically and in person
Essential Functions:
<ol>
<li>Receive students and guests, in person and virtually, in a pleasing and helpful manner and ensure adequate information is distributed to the clients.</li>
<li>Answer the telephone and coordinate the responses to Financial Aid emails, facilitate Service Desk software for Financial Aid and collaborate with EDAmerica as needed.</li>
<li>Assist the clients with the completion of forms and the acquisition of required documents.</li>
<li>Maintain a positive, efficient and comfortable environment for students and guests.</li>
<li>Monitor the department specific emails such as program of study and respond.</li>
<li>Maintain an on-going understanding of financial aid rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Assist in the coordination of Financial Aid events, such as Constitution Day and FAFSA Frenzies.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining the operational calendar for required submissions and reports and student communications.</li>
<li>Assist the director and associate directors in the development of communications for internal training.</li>
<li>Perform clerical duties such as typing, correspondence, travel claims, purchase orders, work orders and other documents; duplicating and filing correspondence, etc.</li>
<li>Understand the general function of financial aid and assist other team members if needed through functional cross-training.</li>
