Position Summary: Pellissippi State Community College is seeking qualified contract instructors (s) to teach HVAC training classes for its Workforce and Community Development Department. We are specifically seeking an instructor for evening classes to be taught on an ongoing basis.
 Instructors work on a part-time, temporary contract to provide educational instruction for a specific class or workforce training. Instructors are expected to be subject matter experts on their topic, will be responsible for delivery of instruction, and may be responsible for developing instructional materials. Current and retired industry leaders and past military personnel with technical training and the ability to teach are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Summary: Do you have a passion for sharing your expertise, craft or hobby with others? Pellissippi State’s noncredit lifelong learning program offers personal enrichment classes for the community with a wide range of topics, including: fitness, languages, musical instruments, arts and crafts, wellness, history, and more. Class participants are community members ages 18+. Some of the many benefits of teaching a lifelong learning class include working with engaged and enthusiastic adult learners and flexible class scheduling.
 Our noncredit class schedule is released twice a year: spring/summer and fall. Classes can be as short as 90 minutes or up to 20 hours in length. Instructors are expected to have a high level of expertise in the subject of their proposed class, and some experience in teaching or training others. While compensation can vary depending on the type of class being offered, noncredit instructors are generally paid starting at either $40 per class hour or 60 percent of total course fees. Lifelong learning instructors work on a temporary, part-time contract.

Position Summary: To perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.&nbsp; To provide maintenance/custodial support for campus as assigned. &nbsp;
Essential Functions: 
70% Perform general building maintenance and repair involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, flooring, tile, electrical and cubical installation and break down. The maintenance worker supports the staff and faculty in the college by providing a clean, safe, and functional environment in which to work and learn.
10% Move furniture and other equipment such as portable platforms, man-lift, pianos, and incubators. Assist Shipping/Receiving to deliver equipment and supplies to other campuses with 16’ or 26’ box truck. Assist Grounds in doing snow removal and applying ice melt chemical to sidewalks when needed. Assist EH&amp;S Manager in removing bio-hazard waste and storing for proper disposal. Assist EH&amp;S Manager in all campus emergency drills.
10% Set-up tables and PSCC display on and off campus for special functions.
10% Performs various custodial tasks.

Job Requirements:&nbsp; High school diploma or G.E.D. Minimum of three years’ experience in building maintenance that can be on the job experience to include training in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and/or other building trades, with 5 years preferred.
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Physical Demands: Must be able to walk, lift, and bend as well as work from a ladder, work in a confined space, and carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to hear to communicate via radio to contact each other to help with jobs. Visual acuity is required to drive on and between campuses, as well as the need to have color perception when painting or doing electrical work. Not being able to differentiate between colors while connecting electrical wire could result in someone’s death.
Hazards: Extreme heat and cold as well as dirty conditions like dust, working at heights above 30 feet.&nbsp; Blood borne pathogens, electrical shock, back injury, chemical burns, loss of appendages, chemical fumes, bomb threats, falling from ladders, crushed hand, foot or other body parts.
