This includes monitoring security cameras, access control systems, intrusion systems, radio communications, and fire life safety systems. The role requires accurate and timely updating of security documentation, including incident reports, injury reports, daily activity reports, and event reports. The Security Officer will also play a significant role in event management, working closely with VIPs, conducting Executive Protection assignments, managing large crowds, and creating a welcoming environment while enforcing company policies and procedures on Academy Campus and external locations. &nbsp; Essential Functions of the Job:&nbsp; <ul><li>Monitor video management systems, access control, intrusion alarms, visitor management software, fire life safety systems, including vault suppression systems. </li><li>Ensure all security systems are functioning properly and conduct troubleshooting steps as needed. </li><li>Complete security documentation, such as Event reports, Daily Activity reports and Incident/Injury reports. </li><li>Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills to provide a positive service experience for all building occupants attending Academy facilities and external event locations. </li><li>Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, outside vendors, and law enforcement. Respond to incidents and building alarms as needed. </li><li>Conduct security patrols with mobile devices to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and building assets. </li><li>Multitask effectively under pressure to ensure the safety of employees and guests during emergency evacuations. Support and assist with building evacuations. </li><li>Conduct Executive Protection support for Academy events at internal and external locations. </li><li>Lead event teams conducting security screening operations at Academy Campus and external locations. </li><li>Support and manage mobile/hand-held devices for large-scale special events as needed. </li><li>Conduct special assignments related to awards season events. </li><li>Monitor activities and immediately report any observed discrepancies. </li><li>Communicate with local law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services as required by the situation. </li><li>Operate radio communications as needed. </li><li>Schedule flexibility to support after-hours and weekend support. </li></ul>&nbsp; Required Competencies: &nbsp;<ul><li>A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion is required. </li><li>Must have a valid California BSIS guard card. </li><li>Must have at least five years of security experience; entertainment industry preferred.&nbsp; </li><li>Executive protection experience preferred.</li><li>Experience working at events and familiarity with security screening operations. </li><li>Ability to lead a team for security screening operations. </li><li>Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with all levels of personnel, Academy members, leadership, and the public. </li><li>Ability to de-escalate disputes and conflicts. </li><li>Intermediate experience with computers (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to learn required systems.&nbsp; </li><li>Deep understanding of the functions of security systems and technology, including access controls and visitor management. </li><li>Knowledge of legal guidelines in security and public safety.&nbsp; </li><li>Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, and work as a team member. </li><li>CPR/First Aid/AED certified, preferred. </li><li>Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language. </li><li>Ability to work overtime and late hours on short notice.&nbsp; </li><li>Available to work non-traditional schedule, including nights and weekends.&nbsp; </li><li>Must pass a written exam.&nbsp; </li><li>A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. </li></ul> Physical Demands:<ul><li>Must be able to move and transport up to 25 lbs.&nbsp; </li><li>Stair climb, forward bend, and remain in a stationary position for periods more than four hours.</li></ul>&nbsp; Required Vaccination:&nbsp;Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, including any booster vaccinations as applicable.
