In this role, you will transform system updates, configuration changes, and fleet requirements into practical training products used across the Navy. Success requires strong shipboard network expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to translate real-world system administration experience into effective training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain CANES and C4I courseware, lesson plans, student guides, presentation materials, and practical lab exercises.
  • Apply structured training development processes, including the Instructional System Design methodology, to define requirements and establish learning objectives.
  • Utilize Navy authoring tools such as CPM/LOM and AIM to develop and manage curriculum.
  • Ensure training materials accurately reflect real-world system administration practices and fleet operational standards.
  • Support pilot courses and fleet training events.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate feedback to maintain technical accuracy and instructional quality.

Qualifications

This position is governed by Service Contract Labor Standards and must meet the minimum personnel qualification requirements identified in the contract.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Navy TACNET, CANES, ISNS/COMPOSE, or other C4I systems.
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical field; or completion of formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A/B military electronics or communications school, or a four-year electronics apprenticeship program; or a High School diploma/GED with qualifying experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience with a qualifying degree/formal technical training, or ten (10) years of relevant experience with a High School diploma/GED.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, testing, analysis, modification, and documentation of engineering systems, equipment, devices, or components, including preparation and modification of engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Experience analyzing technical data, developing design solutions, conducting and evaluating tests, troubleshooting equipment performance issues, and recommending or implementing design improvements.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation to real-world systems or training content.
  • DoD 8570/8140 Cybersecurity workforce qualified within nine (9) months of hire date.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance walking through the door.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent hands-on experience administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, or configuring CANES in an afloat U.S. Navy environment.
  • Recent Navy experience as an Information Systems Technician (IT), Information Warfare professional, or contractor directly supporting CANES, ISNS/COMPOSE, TACNET, or other afloat C4I systems.
  • Experience supporting fleet sustainment, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), In-Service Engineering Activities (ISEAs), or similar Navy technical organizations.
  • Experience developing training materials, SOPs, technical guides, or configuration documentation.
  • Familiarity with Navy training development processes or structured curriculum development.
  • Experience with VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, Cisco networking, or related enterprise technologies.
  • Prior experience mentoring, training, or providing technical guidance to military, government, or contractor personnel in technical environments.
