Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Diagnostic Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. Diagnostic testing includes X-ray, CAT scan, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, mammography, interventional procedures, and PET/CT procedures.
The Diagnostic Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results.The Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards.This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.
This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
Qualifications
LICENSE: Licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection for all modalities except Ultrasound. ARDMS is required for Ultrasound. NMTCB or ARRT(N) for PET/CT
EXPERIENCE:Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially to work. ARRT expires on incumbents date of birth and must be renewed annually to work.

Ultrasound
Graduate of an ultrasound technology program required.
1 yr. diagnostic testing experience preferred.
BLS for Healthcare Providersrequired.
Registry or Registry Eligible American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required. (clinical hours needed to take boards)
If registry eligible at time of hire, registration is required within 1 year; department director will oversee that certification is achieved at the department level
Advanced RVT certification required within 18 months of passing initial ARDMS registry or date of hire.
