Responsibilities
2nd Shift - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Monday through Friday
Starting pay $28.59/hr
Pay Grade - HR150
Now Hiring at the MSA Safety Cranberry Township, PA manufacturing plant for an SMT Technician. The responsibilities of this position are primarily to:
- Assemble printed circuit boards by setting-up and operating SMT and/or Conformal Coating machines.
- Perform manual inspection of the boards to ensure that they are within specification.
- Program SMT and/or Conformal Coating Machines using CAD software. Programming also requires knowledge of machine functions in relation to board layout and flow of material.
- Troubleshoot and debug errors within programs and machines.
- Run prototype boards/programs for engineering (red folder) jobs.
- Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information in computer system.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in soldering
- Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness
- Ability to:
- program SMT and/or Conformal Coating machines using CAD software.
- read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
- perform standard software operations including Excel and SAP.
- identify various electronic components.
- infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- regularly perform work that requires magnification.
- to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
- stand for prolonged periods of time, frequently in a stationary position.
- work in a team environment and effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates.
- work independently with minimal supervision.
- prioritize and organize work.
- wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses and other PPE as required per Job Safety Analysis.
- Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts.
- Individuals with pacemakers may be prohibited from working in specific areas due to the operation of UV ovens.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 months previous electronics manufacturing or other related experience.
Experience Preferred:
- Computer Programming training.
- Minimum of 12 months experience working in the Boardroom assembling PCBs.
- Previous experience with fluidics and robotics.
