Florida Physical Therapy Assistant

Summary

Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician who understands and respects the values of our tribal communities. Together, staff will provide care that meets the needs of the community and offers a meaningful and culturally responsive experience for both patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans as established by the Physical Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion
  • Assist with mobility, gait, balance, and fall-prevention training
  • Perform transfer training (bed, chair, standing, and walking)
  • Apply therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation
  • Monitor patient tolerance and response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
  • Accurately document therapy sessions and patient progress in accordance with clinical standards

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications

  • Licensure: Associate degree from accredited PTA program
    • Passed the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs
    • Active state license in the state of practice
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA)
  • Immunizations: Based on client need
  • Experience required: Based on client need
  • Schedule: Based on client needs
