Job SummaryThe Assistant Patient Care Manager (A-PCM) supports the patient care manager (PCM) whose human resource span of control exceeds acceptable UKHC standards. He/She will provide supervision, coaching, mentoring and opportunities for growth to nursing staff and assist in the day-to-day management of the nursing unit(s). The A-PCM assists with scheduling, payroll management, monitoring of staff competencies, evaluation of staff performance, and special projects as assigned by the PCM. He/she will serve as the manager for clerical staff as appropriate on the assigned unit(s). Increased supervision and staff coaching/mentoring is associated with decreased staff turnover and improved patient outcomes. The Assistant Patient Care Manager (A-PCM) provides clinical and managerial oversight on the shifts he/she is assigned. The A-PCM supports the Patient Care Managers to develop nursing staff at all levels to ensure nursing practice that supports exemplary patient care, compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards and exceptional patient experience, and are responsible for direct supervision of staff and support of patient care managerSkills / Knowledge / AbilitiesThis position also requires the ability to
