ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY The Quality Engineer provides leadership and guidance to the organization acting as a change agent to implement process improvement across the organization in the achievement of an operational excellence environment. &nbsp;This is accomplished through application of knowledge in quality systems, driving adherence to disciplined systems and robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices; in conjunction with managing to a cohesive set of key performance metrics that provide an objective perspective on the business operating system health and effectiveness. ResponsibilitiesOur state-of-the-art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.&nbsp;Job Summary&nbsp;-&nbsp;This position is responsible for the dimensional integrity of an assigned portfolio of investment cast parts.&nbsp;Responsibility includes the design and acquisition of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and dimensional inspection plans necessary to produce parts that consistently meet or exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations.&nbsp;Also, this position will identify and lead continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, improve scrap and rework yields, and improve the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.Essential Functions<ul> <li>Develops and improves processes of critical and complex aerospace components.</li> <li>Conceives, evaluates and implements problem solving activities, cost reduction initiatives and part/process improvement activities.</li></ul>Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul> <li>Investigates and analyzes root cause of external customer escapes. ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:The Production Planner role provides direction, information and prioritization to the operational teams to optimize manufacturing schedules, coordinate material flow, manage inventory and ensure timely delivery of customer products. ResponsibilitiesOur state-of-the-art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team.&nbsp;Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.&nbsp;Job Summary&nbsp;- This position will be&nbsp;responsible for the metallurgical integrity and cost performance of a portfolio of investment cast, super alloy, aerospace and power generation components.Essential Functions<ul> <li>Develop new, and refine existing, investment casting processes to reduce scrap, rework, and manufacturing costs.</li> <li>Support manufacturing in the processing of castings through all operations.</li> <li>Work concurrently with customers to design components for castability.</li> <li>Maintain customer relationships through joint resolution of issues.</li></ul>Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul> <li>Maintain and improve casting scrap rates.</li> <li>Maintain and improve casting rework rates.</li> <li>Improve casting profitability through cost reductions.</li> <li>Develop and refine manufacturing work instructions.</li> <li>Develop casting processes for new products.</li> <li>Assist sales department in quotation of new products.</li> <li>Achieve cost targets for development and production castings.</li> <li>Establish and achieve milestones for casting development.</li> <li>Performs other work-related duties as assigned.</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.</li> <li>3&nbsp;years' work experience in an Engineering role (Co-Op or internship experience will be considered as work experience).</li> <li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.&nbsp;Verification of employment will be required at the time of hire.&nbsp;Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.</li> <li>This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul> <li>Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.</li> <li>Experience working in Investment Casting.</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Effective oral and written communication skills.</li></ul>About us﻿Howmet Aerospace Inc.
