Minimum Qualifications

<li>Associates Degree in the subject matter area</li>
<li>Currently credentialed as a Tennessee Instructor Coordinator. EMT Instructor Coordinator level.</li>
<li>Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT-Paramedic, without a history of revocation, denial or suspension of licensure.</li>
<li>Current BLS provider and instructor level certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers. (American Heart Preferred)</li>
<li>Minimum of two (2) years practicing as a paramedic in the pre-hospital environment;</li>
<li>Minimum of two (1) year EMS education experience or minimum of 200 hours of EMS related instruction.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelors or Masters degree in the areas of EMS, nursing, management, administration, and or education are preferred.</li>
<li>Current ACLS provider level certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support</li>
<li>Current PALS provider level certification for Pediatric Advanced Life Support.</li>
<li>Prior teaching experience in EMS related subjects is preferred</li>
<li>Prior employment as adjunct faculty or lab/simulation technician is preferred</li>
<li>EMS administrative experience is preferred</li>
<li>Experience with high fidelity simulation equipment is preferred</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Knowledgeable in all aspects of pre-hospital care and capable of applying techniques and modalities of adult education.</li>
<li>Maintains current unencumbered license/certification as required.</li>
<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an academically ever-growing student population.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.</li>
<li>Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Ability to convey complex physics concepts to students.</li>

Job Summary
This is a part-time, Adjunct Faculty position supporting the Mechatronics Technology program in the Department of Engineering Technology. THIS POSTING IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF AN OPEN POSITION. Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Mechatronics Technology.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Baccalaureate degree or higher in industrial engineering, industrial engineering technology, industrial technology, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, mechanical technology, electrical/electronic engineering, electrical/electronic engineering technology, electrical/electronic technology, or a closely-related engineering, technology, or similar field. -or- 
</li>
<li>Associate degree in industrial engineering technology, industrial technology, mechanical engineering technology, mechanical technology, electrical/electronic engineering technology, electrical/electronic technology, or a closely-related field and demonstrated competencies or experience in the field.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field. 
</li>
<li>Applicants should have industrial maintenance experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical drive components, AC/DC machinery and wiring, and programmable logic controllers (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens preferred) ,VFD’s ,process control equipment. </li>

<li>Must have knowledge of Teaching Methods &amp; Instructional Design</li>

<li>Minimum of four years’ experience in the discipline or related field.</li>
<li>Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science, Aviation Management, Aerospace Administration/Education, Commercial Aviation, Aviation Safety, Aerospace Operations/Engineering, Aviation Business Administration or similar field.</li>

<li>The faculty member must be knowledgeable and able to instruct in the following technical subject areas: aerodynamics, meteorology, aircraft systems, safety management systems, airline industry, flight operations management, human factors, and aircraft structures. </li>
<li>The individual must be able to conduct flight training on the simulators. </li>
<li>The faculty member must be familiar with using a Learning Management System for conducting face-to-face and online classes. </li>
<li>The faculty member will be responsible for the coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities, including overseeing all compliance requirements of the FAR Part 141 standards. </li>
<li>Managing agreements with flight training providers with the goal of increasing student completions in the pilot program. </li>
<li>The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, and occasionally weekends of any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned.   </li>
