FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville is accepting applications for two Welding Technology Instructor positions. Both positions are full-time, Monday through Friday, and located at either the Main Campus, 2905 Highway 231 North, Shelbyville, TN, or Ariens Corporation, 1810 Wilson Parkway, Fayetteville, TN.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Provide individualized classroom and lab instruction to high school and adult students to prepare them for careers in welding.</li>
<li>Demonstrate and explain welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OFC, and PAC) in classroom and lab settings.</li>
<li>Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.</li>
<li>Assist in recruitment and placement of students.</li>
<li>Maintain good public relations with business and industry and maintain an active advisory board.</li>
</ul>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent (HiSET acceptable).</li>
<li>Postsecondary diploma or A.A.S. in Welding or related field preferred.</li>
<li>AWS Certification Level I or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.</li>
<li>3+ years of approved work experience in the welding occupation:
<ul>
<li>Experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OFC, and PAC using various materials.</li>
<li>Fabrication and blueprint reading experience.</li>
<li>Technical teaching experience a plus.</li>
</ul>

<li>Proficient in the principles and practices of the welding industry.</li>
<li>Skilled in using industry-standard tools and equipment.</li>
<li>Capable of teaching students tool use, layout interpretation, and blueprint reading for fabrication.</li>

<li>Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills for effective teaching.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with high school and adult learners and to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, faculty, industry partners, and the public.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy a plus.</li>
<li>Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and move around the teaching area to demonstrate and perform occupational tasks (with or without accommodation).</li>

Job Summary
This is a full-time, faculty term appointment within Emergency Medical Technology program. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Surgical Technology. This position will support instruction in Nashville high schools and on the Nashville State White Bridge campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. <li>Documented industry training in automation equipment (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc) Industry recognized mechatronics certifications or the ability to attain them within six months of hire (e.g., Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, SACA Siemens, Fanuc or others) 
</li>

      Faculty – Mechatronics Technology
    

A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. Faculty also provide academic advising and facilitate student success. Technology tools are routinely used to communicate with and support students.
Faculty participate in divisional and institutional activities related to the college’s mission, engage with communities of interest, and promote college programs.
This full-time faculty position is pivotal in the development and delivery of our AI courses in the Computer Information Technology Program, working closely with the Director.
This is a 9-month faculty position located on the Columbia, TN Campus.

Essential Functions:
<ol>
<li>Must be able to deliver instruction and evaluate student learning in all instructional delivery formats offered by the specific department at the college and at any of its teaching locations. Formats include but are not limited to in-person, online, hybrid, live streaming, and clinical.</li>
<li>Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy.</li>
<li>Maintain an environment conducive to learning.</li>
<li>Be responsible for course and, when appropriate, laboratory preparation.</li>
<li>Actively participate in curriculum and program development, revision and evaluation.</li>
<li>Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.</li>
<li>Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities.</li>
<li>Actively participate on divisional and institutional committees.</li>
<li>Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution.</li>
<li>Contribute appropriately to pursuit and achievement of program, division, and institutional mission and strategy.</li>
<li>Must have experience implementing Artificial Intelligence solutions in Business processes and/or academia.</li>
</ol>

<li>Support and follow Columbia State's, TBR and other applicable policies and guidelines.</li>

Job Specifications
Education, Training and Experience Required: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information technology required.</li>
<li>College teaching experience is desirable.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Master's or Doctorate and higher education experience preferred.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
The ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English and in the language in which the course is taught; the knowledge and/or experience to instruct using a variety of instructional delivery modes; the ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff and student population; the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and community members; the ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Working Conditions:
Faculty members are expected to be available for day and evening classes and for assignments at any of the institution's centers or sites.&nbsp; Normal sitting and movement in a classroom and the ability to manipulate and move audiovisual equipment both in the classroom and from one location to another.
