General Duties:
The Building Construction Technology Instructor reports to the Vice President and is responsible for developing, planning, and preparing a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides, and keep these revised and up to date to meet the requirements of the industry. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with industry, high schools, and businesses to promote the Building Construction Technology program.

The Building Construction Technology Instructor is responsible for the following:

<li>Guide students in selection, perception, and performance of suitable learning activities.</li>
<li>Organize class time effectively and efficiently in order that learning activities can be accomplished.</li>
<li>Examine, evaluate, and select textbooks and reference materials commensurate to the course being taught.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>
<li>Utilize individual and/or group instructional procedures appropriate to the requirements of the assigned activities and the students’ needs.</li>
<li>Supervise student conduct to ensure that the potentially hazardous shops/labs/classrooms provide an orderly environment conducive to productivity.</li>
<li>Maintain a well-organized, safe, and clean shop and/or classroom.</li>
<li>Advise students on the importance of safety in relation to machinery, tools, and equipment.</li>
<li>Investigate and make a full report on every accident on the day the accident occurs, using the “Preliminary Accident Report Form.”</li>
<li>Be responsible for equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to shop and/or classroom.</li>
<li>Maintain an inventory of equipment, controls storage, repair, and usage of materials to minimize loss or abuse.</li>
<li>Stay connected with business and industry by making a minimum of 5 industry visits each year so that the curriculum can be updated to reflect changes in a high-tech society.</li>
<li>Establish an Occupational Advisory Committee comprised of a minimum of three (5) industry leaders who advise on all aspects of the program and meets once each year.</li>
<li>Maintain COE Completion, Placement and Licensure minimums each trimester.</li>
<li>Keep and share with students continuously updated records of attendance and competencies acquired during their enrollment.</li>
<li>Evaluate each student’s progress at multiple intervals during each trimester and complete permanent records.</li>
<li>Assist, as directed by administration, in follow-up evaluations of graduates and their programs.</li>
<li>Help students, as opportunities become available and known, in job placement for both full-time and part-time employment.</li>
<li>Requisition equipment, supplies, materials, and instructional aides as needed, working within the perimeters of school guidelines and available funds.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in various school functions such as graduation, open houses, and other functions as assigned.</li>
<li>Participate as a member of various faculty/staff committees.</li>
<li>Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences.</li>

Physical Demands and Working Requirements (ADA Requirements):

Title: Instructor, Surgical Technology – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Surgical Technology. This position will support instruction in Nashville high schools and on the Nashville State White Bridge campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold office hours. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide accurate and updated course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.
Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term faculty position in the Mechatronics Technology program in the Technologies Department. Job Duties

<li>Documented industry training in automation equipment (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc) Industry recognized mechatronics certifications or the ability to attain them within six months of hire (e.g., Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, SACA Siemens, Fanuc or others) 
</li>
<li>Applicants should have industrial maintenance experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical drive components, AC/DC machinery and wiring, and programmable logic controllers (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens preferred), VFDs, process control equipment.

<li>Experience with the operation of industrial robotic equipment (i.e., Fanuc, Yaskawa or other brands) and/or systems integration.

A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. This full-time faculty position is pivotal in the development and delivery of our AI courses in the Computer Information Technology Program, working closely with the Director.
This is a 9-month faculty position located on the Columbia, TN Campus.

Essential Functions:
<ol>
<li>Must be able to deliver instruction and evaluate student learning in all instructional delivery formats offered by the specific department at the college and at any of its teaching locations. Formats include but are not limited to in-person, online, hybrid, live streaming, and clinical.</li>
<li>Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy.</li>
<li>Maintain an environment conducive to learning.</li>
<li>Be responsible for course and, when appropriate, laboratory preparation.</li>
<li>Actively participate in curriculum and program development, revision and evaluation.</li>
<li>Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.</li>
<li>Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities.</li>
<li>Actively participate on divisional and institutional committees.</li>
<li>Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution.</li>
<li>Contribute appropriately to pursuit and achievement of program, division, and institutional mission and strategy.</li>
<li>Must have experience implementing Artificial Intelligence solutions in Business processes and/or academia.</li>
</ol>

Job Specifications
Education, Training and Experience Required: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information technology required.</li>
<li>College teaching experience is desirable.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Master's or Doctorate and higher education experience preferred.</li>
</ul>

Working Conditions:
Faculty members are expected to be available for day and evening classes and for assignments at any of the institution's centers or sites.&nbsp; Normal sitting and movement in a classroom and the ability to manipulate and move audiovisual equipment both in the classroom and from one location to another.

Job Summary
Part time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Columbia State also offers classes at several off-campus locations and clinical sites.
Minimum Qualifications Required:

<li>Associate's degree or higher in Anesthesia Technology or related field and professional certification and verification of work experience in field (one year minimum experience).</li>

Salary is $560 per credit hour. Workload adjustments will be made for faculty teaching classes where the number of contact hours exceeds the number of credit hours. Additionally, a travel stipend may be negotiated at time of hire for faculty traveling more than 80 miles each week to teach their classes. For part-time faculty who continue to work at Columbia State, salary is based on collegiate level teaching experience documented during the first semester of teaching.
Part-Time Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
The part-time faculty member reports directly to the dean for assignments/duties and is responsible for:

<li>Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental course syllabi and course minimum student learning outcomes.</li>
<li>Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.</li>
<li>Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in his/her classes.</li>
<li>Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and for informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate records of student attendance/participating and grades.</li>
<li>Reading Columbia State email and responding to student questions via email in a timely manner.</li>

      Part Time Faculty- Anesthesia Technology
    

Title: Temporary - Technology Tutor
POSITION SUMMARY This position provides support to students who require assistance operating the College’s learning systems. The tutor should be familiar with and capable of demonstrating how to use the various technologies commonly used by students at the College. These tools include myNSCC, D2L, the Office 365 suite, Zoom and digital textbooks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide both virtual and in-person assistance for students seeking guidance using digital course tools. Monitor and record attendance during scheduled hours. Collect feedback from students to inform future support efforts. Refer students needing additional assistance to the appropriate resource(s). Maintain professional and consistent communication with Learning Center Coordinator. Host workshops on digital course tools during peak times of the semester. Attend all mandatory trainings as part of the larger tutoring team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An associate’s degree or higher
Access to a reliable internet connection in order to provide virtual drop-in and appointment-based support
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Some evening and weekend availability strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Familiarity with key digital course tools, such as D2L, Zoom, Office 365 and digital textbooks.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with faculty, staff and student populations.
