The successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, productive research agenda that aims to make an impact in cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, substance abuse, or other health conditions. Our department seeks an Assistant Professor of Research for Department of Family &amp; Community Medicine who will conduct innovative, rigorous, grant funded research and engage in scholarly activities (peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.). Faculty members will also have an opportunity to contribute to the research training of UK students and postdoctoral scholars, including mentorship programs, workshops, and supervised research. The University of Kentucky is one of only eight institutions in the nation with established schools in Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy on a single, contiguous campus. This position will have regular assignments in the faculty rotation to cover electrophysiology consult services at the University of Kentucky. In addition, ambulatory assignments will be aimed to establish a practice encompassing patients with arrhythmias and other heart rhythm disorders and this position will be involved in non-invasive and invasive testing in this patient population.
