Job Duties
- Instruction and Student Engagement.
- Assessment and Grading.
- Student Support and Communication.
- Adhere to Institutional policies and procedures.
- Utilize the Learning Management System, Brightspace.
- Follow state and federal fire science guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in fire science or a related field.
- Hold a valid, Tennessee Fire Commission -Fire Instructor II Certification Academy Credentialed Instructor (ACI) in Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services and Basic Firefighting.
- Successful completion of the TN Fire Commission FO120-Conducting Live Fire Evolutions Class.
- Be familiar with IAFC/NFPS 1010.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Classroom, office, laboratory, and field-based instruction.
- Physical ability to demonstrate or supervise fire service skills.
- Use of personal protective equipment during training evolutions.
- Travel to training sites, fire departments, or partner agencies.
- Evening or weekend instruction as needed.
- Compliance with all safety standards during practical and live training activities.
