Overview
The Sr Product Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new valve products. To ensure that the products meet customer requirements and adhere to applicable industry standards, the engineer will collaborate with other teams including Quality, Manufacturing, product management and sourcing to ensure that the product meets all designated requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products according to company requirements.
- Create test plans and conduct testing of prototype products.
- Identify potential patents, trademarks opportunities and work with legal team for filings
- Ensure that the products meet all necessary standards and regulations.
- Ensure robust technical documentation and conformity assessment processes, including technical files, calculations, manuals, and declarations of conformity
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of product development.
- Continuously test and evaluate products to ensure quality and functionality
- Work with Product management team to identify potential cost optimization opportunities.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in the product development process.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and standards to ensure that the products are competitive.
- Work closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to deliver scalable, manufacturable, and customer-focused solutions

- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required. A master's is preferred.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience is required. Valves experience is preferred.
- This job supervises one designer, so supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience providing technical direction to design and drafting personnel.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents in English.
- Ability to apply engineering calculations to product design.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to utilize CAD (Creo and Windchill are preferred) and engineering & simulation tools.
- Ability to use MS Office.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
