Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Technologies, the Aviation Department Program Director is responsible for managing the FAA Airframe and Power Plant program, and coordinating with the FAA to meet Federal Aviation Regulations. Additionally, the director is responsible for teaching an average of 15 credit hours each semester with optional release time. As the site coordinator for the aviation hangar, the Program Director is responsible for ensuring the facility is well-maintained by submitting repair work orders and performing periodic facility inspections. They will also coordinate outreach programs as necessary.
Job Duties
• Complete all required reports such as attendance and grade submissions.
• Oversee the curriculum to ensure it meets the FAA and TBR requirements. Support the college's policies and directives.
• Complete annual performance review and maintain related records.
• Teach assigned courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities.
• Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required.
• Develop curriculum, evaluate and review departmental courses.
• Promote communication with transfer institutions, professional associations, and other external constituents to support student success.
• Evaluate and monitor progress to achieve individual and unit goals and objectives.

Routine Instructional Objectives
• Teach an average of 15 equated hours per semester during day or evening; on/off campus.

• FAA Private Pilot, and Part 107 (Unmanned Aircraft Systems, drones). • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. • One year of work experience at an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. • Experience developing aviation training courses in collaboration with the FAA and FAA representatives. • Conversational ability or fluency in a second language.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
