Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Assistant Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance is responsible for managing day-to-day maintenance operations and supervising maintenance employees across multiple campuses. The Assistant Director will maintain and update the automated preventive maintenance (PM) program and use the software to generate and assign scheduled PM work orders. The Assistant Director will also assign and coordinate the completion of unscheduled work orders as they are received. The Assistant Director will work cooperatively with all constituents of the college in all preventive and routine maintenance work, including the work of outside contractors.
Job Duties
• Supervise maintenance staff on the Blountville and Kingsport campuses • Manage and maintain the automated preventive maintenance (PM) program, including inventory of equipment in all facilities • Generate, assign, and schedule PM and unscheduled work orders for all campuses • Manage, coordinate, and direct all phases of in-house construction after design phases, including the work of sub-contracted trades and the coordination of work with all NeSCC constituents • Prepare bid documents and specifications to solicit bids for facilities maintenance work • Maintain inventory of routine maintenance stock items such as filters, belts, lamps, ballasts, etc. • Assist the Director in all aspects of Plant Operations • Complete other assignments as directed by supervision
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or two-year technical degree from a regionally accredited institution • Five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance • Three (3) years supervisory/team leader experience • Experience reading and understanding various blueprint documents.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution • Experience with Metasys building automation system • Experience in facilities maintenance in a higher education setting • Experience producing construction documents using CAD software and writing specifications for in-house construction and renovation projects. • Conversational ability or fluency in a second language.&nbsp;

25% Active Learning Support – Develop, coordinate, and evaluate professional learning for staff, including soft skills, compliance-based training and leadership in collaboration with the PACE director, HR executive director, and other stakeholders (including but not limited to Pellissippi Academy: Path to Excellence; Pellissippi State Trainer Academy (PSTA), etc.). Collaborate with the Cross Functional Talent Development team to maintain a year-round training calendar and other college wide professional development initiatives. Lead career advancement programming for staff, providing clear paths for growth and supporting internal talent development. Collaborate with Career Development and Engage and Lead to deploy student employee workshops. Leverage a designated learning management system (LMS) for delivery once identified. Other training responsibilities as assigned.
10% HR Access, Accountability, and Agility– Expand awareness and accessibility of HR resources, policies, and procedures by serving as HR liaison and maintaining HR specific content on the college’s intranet. Ensure information is accurate, clear, user-friendly, increasing transparency and understanding across the college community. Partner with the HR executive director to update content regularly and communicate changes effectively.
5% Employee Relations – As assigned by the executive director, assist with employee relations by completing specific assignments, which may include gathering information, preparing communications, supporting investigations, or assisting with engagement-related follow-up actions. Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with institutional policy.5% Other duties as assigned including but not limited to serving on relevant college committees, the Cross Functional Talent Development Team, or other special assignments that strengthen employee engagement and institutional culture.

Job Requirements:&nbsp; 
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Higher Education, or a related discipline is preferred. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR are desirable but not required.
Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, talent acquisition, organizational development, employee engagement, or higher education administration is required. Experience in program design, training coordination, employee relations, or employee recognition initiatives is preferred.
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Physical Demands: The role is primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting, computer use, and meetings. Occasional moving around and lifting (generally under 25 lbs.) are required when setting up training sessions, recognition events, or recruitment fairs. This position provides educational leadership for a unit of the college dedicated to the development, management, and administration of workforce and noncredit training and learning activities. The Director reports to and works in concert with the Vice President of Partnerships, Workforce and Southern Campuses to achieve the mission of the office and to promote economic, community, and personal development for citizens throughout the college’s nine-county service area.
Essential Functions
1. Lead Program Development
Direct the creation, marketing, and delivery of noncredit professional and personal development learning opportunities.
2. Foster External Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with businesses, industries, government entities, economic developers, and communities within the college’s nine-county service area.
3. Assess Training Needs
Evaluate the training and service needs of businesses, industries, and community organizations. Serve as a resource to identify opportunities for the college to meet these needs through contract training or professional courses (credit or noncredit).
4. Collaborate with Industry

Title: Director, Culinary Arts – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Culinary Arts is a 9-month faculty position that, in collaboration with the Dean and Campus Director, provides the vision and leadership required to realize the mission of the CULA program. Primary administrative responsibilities include program development/management, budget development/management, purchasing of supplies and materials, maintaining programmatic accreditation/external partnerships and providing operational supervision to full and part time faculty and staff in the department. Instructional responsibilities require a strong culinary and hospitality services skill set and the ability to teach students effectively in an instructional environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, evaluates, and continually improves academic courses and programs, working in collaboration with faculty, that are consistent with the College mission and strategic plan. Provides leadership to program curriculum development/revision including ensuring establishment of effective student learning outcomes and related assessment methods. Provides regular assessment and analysis of assessment to create institutional effectiveness and program specific goals for the improvement of student success on course learning outcomes. Works with faculty and staff to create a collegial, productive, and professional work environment. Ensures that instructional programs meet accreditation guidelines and standards and prepares and submits required accreditation reports while overseeing accreditation site visits. Participates in the college’s hiring process for full and part time faculty, providing orientation to new faculty on program policies and procedures, equipment, and course management.
Assists in the development and compilation of class schedules and teaching/classroom assignments. Supervises the establishment and maintenance of effective program advisory committees.
