Courses are offered in accelerated 8-week terms and delivered asynchronously through the Canvas Learning Management System.Adjunct instructors may be selected to teach one or more of the following courses based on their expertise:<ul><li>Biomolecular Foundations I (Biochemical and Metabolic Processes)</li><li>Evidence-Based Practice</li><li>Biomolecular Foundations II (Cellular and Molecular Processes)</li><li>Research Methods</li><li>Foundations of Human Anatomy and Physiology</li><li>Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology</li><li>Principles of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases</li><li>Biopsychosocial Aspects of Medical Disorders</li><li>Humanities and Medical Ethics</li><li>Pathophysiology</li><li>Fundamentals of Immunology</li></ul>Faculty with expertise in any combination of these topics are encouraged to apply.Principal Duties:Adjunct faculty in the MSBS program are expected to:<ul><li>Deliver engaging, graduate-level instruction that aligns with course objectives and program learning outcomes.</li><li>Be available online and responsive to students at least five out of seven days per week.</li><li>Facilitate and moderate weekly discussion forums.</li><li>Provide timely and substantive feedback on student work.</li><li>Hold virtual office hours and support students as they progress through the course.</li><li>Post weekly announcements and updates to maintain consistent student engagement.</li><li>Create a welcome video and introductory message in Canvas at the start of the course.</li><li>Conduct at least one optional synchronous meeting or Q&amp;A session per term.</li><li>Submit final grades on time and adhere to academic policies and deadlines.</li></ul>Position Qualifications:<ul><li>Doctoral degree in biomedical sciences field (e.g., biology, physiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, public health, or related disciplines)</li><li>Demonstrated content expertise in one or more of the listed course areas</li><li>Prior experience teaching at the graduate level (online teaching experience preferred)</li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills</li><li>Commitment to student-centered instruction and inclusive teaching practices</li><li>Engagement in scholarship, clinical, or applied professional work (preferred)</li></ul>Additional Requirements:All online adjunct faculty are required to complete an online faculty training course on pedagogy and instructional technology prior to their first term of teaching.The Chicago School seeks faculty who are committed to student success, community building, innovation, and collaborative learning environments.
