Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II to join a well-established and collaborative research program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, cutting-edge research using state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and methodologies.
The Scientist II will independently design, conduct, and analyze complex experiments and research projects, as well as generate and interpret statistical datasets. The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership and oversee projects involving laboratory staff, graduate students, and research trainees. Responsibilities include evaluating research progress, analyzing results, implementing improvements to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensuring the successful execution of research objectives.
In addition, the Scientist II will serve as a resource and mentor for laboratory personnel by providing technical guidance and experimental support to staff, scholars, and graduate students. The individual will be expected to independently troubleshoot experimental and technical challenges, contribute to scientific publications and presentations, and help foster a collaborative and productive research environment.
