Adjunct instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Adjunct instructors will participate in courses on a semester by semester basis to supervise associate degree nursing students in skills lab, simulation lab, and or clinical lab settings. Master Degree level prepared adjunct faculty may also provide lecture and classroom instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp;
*A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution required for clinical adjunct.

This position is responsible for providing guidance, instruction and leadership to registered nursing students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing program at the assigned program site. Assist with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students. Provide classroom and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the AASN program utilizing team teaching methodology in an academic environment.
Job Duties:&nbsp;Teach 28-32 hours per academic year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Provide instruction in theory and clinical practice in one or more of the following nursing areas: Medical-Surgical, Women's Health-Mother/Infant, Mental Health/Psychiatric, Gerontology/Geriatrics or other nursing practice specialty. Instruction may include: Personal hygiene, client abuse, human sexuality, cultural diversity, ethnicity, nutrition (nursing, therapeutic aspects), pharmacology, legal, social and ethical aspects of nursing, nursing leadership and management. Participate in division activities associated with the instructional program. Communicate clearly with students and colleagues. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college and at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline OR a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college and actively enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing program. Must be endorsed with appropriate credentials of and unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Tennessee, CPR certification for healthcare professionals, advanced preparation and experience in a nursing practice specialty. Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for teaching in the Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program.&nbsp; &nbsp;Under the supervision of the Program Director, the primary responsibility of this full-time faculty position is to provide quality instruction and supervision of student learning while maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. Teaching responsibilities include classroom and clinical instruction.&nbsp; The faculty responds to students in a timely manner and communicates with the discipline and division via college-provided tools and resources
This is a 9-month nursing faculty position.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Prepares instructional materials such as lectures, presentations, lab sessions, clinical and cooperative arrangements</li>
<li>Uses various learning assessments to evaluate student mastery of course and program outcomes</li>
<li>Provides feedback on student's progress, in a timely manner, to facilitate academic success</li>
<li>Prepares and submits required documentation including course syllabi, student attendance, final course grades and other information as requested or required by the college</li>
<li>Disseminates current information pertaining to services available to students throughout the college</li>
<li>Maintains professional development/growth according to personal needs and requirements for certification</li>
<li>Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned; may be assigned duties as an academic advisor; faculty advisor to a student club or organization; work in the Simulation Nursing Center; and/or mentoring other faculty</li>
<li>Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals</li>

These supports include Admissions and Records, Enrollment Service Center, High School Programs, Recruiting and Orientation, Career Services, Student Support Center, Tutoring Services, Student Conduct, Student Life, Multicultural and International Services, Adult Student Services, and the Center for Access and Disability Services.

Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation
<h4>- Clinical Instruction
</h4>
1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Develop clinical practice objectives in order to identify clinical practice skills to be mastered using textbooks, agency procedures manuals and job descriptions, course syllabi and accreditation criteria.
<ol>
<li>Select and evaluate clinical facilities in order to provide the optimum learning environment for students using course objectives and a knowledge of available clinical opportunities.</li>
<li>Identify clinical practice experiences and client assignments in affiliating clinical agencies in order to provide student with the optimum environment and opportunities to master (practice) clinical skills (competencies) using equipment and supplies in the campus practice laboratory and client kardex, charts and other medical records in clinical agencies.</li>
<li>Provide one-to-one supervision of student clinical practice performance in order to evaluate student mastery of clinical practice objectives and provide for the safety of all assigned clients using available clinical resources and clinical expertise.</li>
<li>Plan and conduct pre- and post-clinical conferences in order to facilitate the clinical learning using group discussions, individual student presentations and guest presenters.</li>
<li>Grade nursing care plans and other written assignments in order to determine the ability of the student to apply theoretical knowledge to the client care setting using written nursing care plan, grading criteria and clinical practice guides.</li>
<li>Maintain records for clinical students in order to comply with clinical agency requirements and protest the student, clinical agencies and the public using a variety of information sheets and forms.</li>
<li>Document student clinical practice performance in order to provide a record of student progress or lack of progress towards mastery of required skills using course objectives, clinical evaluation forms, student counseling form and individual conferences.</li>
</ol>
Demonstrate teaching excellence by using evidence-based instructional practices that foster student learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning OR, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with completion of M.S.N degree within three years of employment.
RN holds a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in Tennessee.&nbsp; Must have two (2) calendar years of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
•Preferred: Community college teaching experience

Provide high quality effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Facilitate student learning, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes, using each course’s standard course outline as a guide.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university and sufficient clinical experience in area of teaching assignment and active unencumbered Tennessee RN license and CPR for Healthcare Provider certification.
Specific hospital requirements such as: clinical background check and urine drug screen, tuberculosis evaluation, proof of vaccinations, proof of healthcare insurance, and code of conduct.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date. Three years of Community College teaching experience.&nbsp;
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
