Position Title: WBL Property/Supply Clerk

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Property/Supply Manager

Wage: $17.20/hr

Position Description

Summary Responsible for supporting the Property/Supply Manager in performing various merchandise-handling duties in the facility. Ensures proper scheduling, recordkeeping, and inventory/property control.


Essential Functions

1. Conducts the annual physical inventory of all center equipment and reconciliation of the inventory to property records.

2. Compiles all information obtained from researching records and physical inventory and prepares property data transmittal sheets to update and correct property listings and to maintain proper accountability.

3. Ensures that surplus property on center is properly reported.

4. Controls storage of all expendable and non-expendable property; prepares and controls property requirement lists.

5. Screens surplus property and prepares transfer orders for equipment.

6. Reviews all internal move orders generated on center and controls data input to both the Department of Labor (DOL) and center mechanized systems.

7. Electronically processes orders; maintains usage records and locator systems.

8. Maintains an accurate inventory of all center property.

9. Assists with property retrieval.

10. Prepares items for shipping, delivery, and transfer; keeps records of items shipped, delivered, received, or transferred to another location.

11. Maintains records of all relevant documentation, including purchase requests/receipts, supply requisitions, consumables, and other records related to the department; checks records for accuracy.

12. Prepares routine correspondence and reports on any changes, progress, or problems in shipping and inventory.

13. Performs data entry.

14. Performs administrative activities for the property department, including copying, filing, and answering phones.

15. Maintains accountability of property and students; adheres to safety practices.

Requirements Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED

• One year of related experience in shipping and inventory

• Experience with Job Corps center or similar preferred Certifications/Competencies

• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment; compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and company safety procedures

• Ability to manually load merchandise, up to 50 lbs., onto skids, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, or stand

• Knowledge of shipping and inventory processes

• Ability to promote the Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions • Strong organizational skills

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

• Computer proficiency Minimum Eligibility Qualifications

• If the position requires driving, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required

• 1-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
