<h2>Overview/Purpose: </h2>
The Utility Operator assists with transporting full skids of finished product to the skid wrapper for final wrapping.
Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.&nbsp; 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Ensures correct number of cartons is placed on skid in the correct configuration.</li>
<li>Provides packaging line with needed quantities of secondary packaging material to sustain continual operations.</li>
<li>Completes assigned documentation in an accurate and timely manner.</li>
<li>Verifies and validates the accuracy and legibility of all case code dates throughout assigned shift. </li>
<li>Follows HACCP and Food Safety principles and verify compliance to all Critical Control points and Preventative Quality Checkpoints to ensure a safe quality product is produced consistently.</li>
<li>Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary.</li>
<li>Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to:

The Opportunity&nbsp;

<li>Responsible for supporting, organizing, conducting, and directing the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program.</li>
<li>This role encompasses liaison activities between Administration, the Surgical Staff, the Medical Staff, performance measurement, protocol development, research, and quality improvement activities for the procurement of donor Heart and Lung grafts for thoracic transplantation.</li>
<li>Responsible for the recovery of donor Heart and Lung grafts for the Heart and Lung Transplant Program in keeping with the policies, rules, and regulations of Vituity-contracted Hospital Systems, clients, and its medical and surgical staff.</li>
<li>Responsible for adhering to all applicable State, Federal, and local laws, policies, and regulations.</li>
<li>Aid in compliance with International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, (ISHLT), United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), and Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), surveys, and laboratory data collection.</li>
<li>Help in preparation for federal, state, or JCAHO inspections.</li>
<li>Collaborate with physicians and Thoracic Transplant Program team members to promote the concepts and practice of Quality Assurance by linking improvement activities, education, and information.</li>
<li>Facilitate appropriate financial and operational efficiencies.</li>
<li>Coordinate with hospital to ensure adequate training of nursing staff and clinical transplant coordinators in the care of donor thoracic transplant patients.</li>
<li>Ensure that tissue typing and organ procurement services are available.</li>
<li>Ensure that heart and lung transplant procurement is performed by, or under direct supervision of, a qualified surgeon.</li>
<li>Participate in hospital and Medical Staff committees dealing with thoracic transplant donor issues.</li>
<li>Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions and attend applicable safety education sessions.</li>
<li>Review operations, policies and procedures, and staff education and training, including a disaster preparedness plan.</li>
</ul>
Required Experience and Competencies
<ul type="disc">
<li>Board Certified/Eligible Thoracic Surgery physicians required.</li>
<li>Valid license to practice medicine in one of the contiguous United States required.</li>
<li>Providers who graduated from a Thoracic training program before 1990 and has at least seven (7) years’ experience in Thoracic Transplant Surgery will be considered.</li>
<li>Providers who are newly graduated within the time specified by the American Board of Medical Specialists and Medical Staff by-laws will be considered.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate current professional knowledge in the care of Thoracic Transplant patients by obtaining at least 12 CMEs in Thoracic OR Surgery every three years and an additional training of one year formalized training in thoracic transplantation required.</li>
<li>A minimum of two years documented experience with a transplant program that meets the qualification for UNOS membership required.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for an optimum of 20 and minimum of 10 heart transplants for adults required.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for an optimum of 20 and minimum of 10 lung transplants in a UNOS approved transplant program required.</li>
<li>Cumulative experience of at least 20 thoracic transplants over more than two years required.</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge in the care of thoracic transplant patients by obtaining a minimum of 12 CME’s in thoracic transplantation AND/OR Thoracic surgery every three years required.</li>
<li>Additional training of one year formalized training in thoracic transplantation OR a minimum of two years’ documented experience with a thoracic transplant program that meets the qualification for UNOS membership preferred.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for at least 10 thoracic transplant recipients in a UNOS-qualified program OR cumulative experience of at least 20 thoracic transplants over more than two years preferred.</li>

<li>Responsible for the recovery of donor Heart and Lung grafts for the Heart and Lung Transplant Program in keeping with the policies, rules, and regulations of Vituity-contracted Hospital Systems, clients, and its medical and surgical staff.</li>
<li>Responsible for adhering to all applicable State, Federal, and local laws, policies, and regulations.</li>
<li>Aid in compliance with International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, (ISHLT), United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), and Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), surveys, and laboratory data collection.</li>
<li>Help in preparation for federal, state, or JCAHO inspections.</li>
<li>Collaborate with physicians and Thoracic Transplant Program team members to promote the concepts and practice of Quality Assurance by linking improvement activities, education, and information.</li>
<li>Facilitate appropriate financial and operational efficiencies.</li>
<li>Coordinate with hospital to ensure adequate training of nursing staff and clinical transplant coordinators in the care of donor thoracic transplant patients.</li>
<li>Ensure that tissue typing and organ procurement services are available.</li>
<li>Ensure that heart and lung transplant procurement is performed by, or under direct supervision of, a qualified surgeon.</li>
<li>Participate in hospital and Medical Staff committees dealing with thoracic transplant donor issues.</li>
<li>Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions and attend applicable safety education sessions.</li>
<li>Review operations, policies and procedures, and staff education and training, including a disaster preparedness plan.</li>
</ul>
Required Experience and Competencies
<ul type="disc">
<li>Board Certified/Eligible Thoracic Surgery physicians required.</li>
<li>Valid license to practice medicine in one of the contiguous United States required.</li>
<li>Providers who graduated from a Thoracic training program before 1990 and has at least seven (7) years’ experience in Thoracic Transplant Surgery will be considered.</li>
<li>Providers who are newly graduated within the time specified by the American Board of Medical Specialists and Medical Staff by-laws will be considered.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate current professional knowledge in the care of Thoracic Transplant patients by obtaining at least 12 CMEs in Thoracic OR Surgery every three years and an additional training of one year formalized training in thoracic transplantation required.</li>
<li>A minimum of two years documented experience with a transplant program that meets the qualification for UNOS membership required.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for an optimum of 20 and minimum of 10 heart transplants for adults required.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for an optimum of 20 and minimum of 10 lung transplants in a UNOS approved transplant program required.</li>
<li>Cumulative experience of at least 20 thoracic transplants over more than two years required.</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge in the care of thoracic transplant patients by obtaining a minimum of 12 CME’s in thoracic transplantation AND/OR Thoracic surgery every three years required.</li>
<li>Additional training of one year formalized training in thoracic transplantation OR a minimum of two years’ documented experience with a thoracic transplant program that meets the qualification for UNOS membership preferred.</li>
<li>Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibility for at least 10 thoracic transplant recipients in a UNOS-qualified program OR cumulative experience of at least 20 thoracic transplants over more than two years preferred.</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge in the care of thoracic transplant patients by obtaining a minimum of 12 CME’s in thoracic transplantation AND/OR thoracic surgery every three years preferred.</li>
