JOB OBJECTIVE:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach Associate of Applied Science-level Aviation Maintenance Technology (AVIT) classes and laboratories; create instructional materials and laboratory experiences; promote the program through local, regional and national engagement; participate in program assessment activities related to accreditations (e.g., SACS, ATMAE, NIMS), certification (FAA) and grant parameters; perform student advising; and complete other departmental services as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
70% Teaching
<ul>
<li>Teach Aviation Technology classes (General, Airframe, and Power Plant).</li>
<li>Create instructional materials and laboratory experiences, teach courses at a variety of times in response to institutional needs, evaluate students’ progress toward achievement of stated student learning outcomes, and inform them promptly of their progress in the course.</li>
<li>Contribute to the management of labs and equipment, develop or update course syllabi for courses within the college guidelines and curriculum as necessary to remain current with the industry, specifically FAA requirements, and review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.</li>
<li>Work with other faculty, staff, and local industries and organizations to continually refine and improve the Aviation Technology program. Such duties to be performed include developing new course materials or courses as required to maintain program currency in emerging technologies in the field of Aviation Maintenance and completing assessment requirements relative to the program.</li>

<li>Attend and/or present at local, regional, state, or national conferences as part of professional development activities. Work with AMT Program Director, faculty, the AMT Advisory Committee, and local industries and organizations to continually refine and improve related curricula.</li>
<li>Help write grant proposals related to program goals and objectives. Participate in grant activities for awarded grants.</li>

JOB STANDARDS:
The successful candidate must have:

<li>An associate’s degree in aviation maintenance or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college/university, and professional experience sufficient to meet SACSCOC criteria. Faculty members may have other professional credentials that qualify them in lieu of academic credentials. Academic deans must submit documentation justifying alternative credentials for approval by the chief academic officer and the SACSCOC liaison.</li>
<li>Minimum of one year of relevant industrial experience and/or experience teaching a range of aviation-based classes.</li>
<li>FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification is required.</li>
<li>Experience with CFR 14 part 147.</li>

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is accepting applications for the Practical Nursing Adjunct Instructor position to work at the TCAT Knoxville Main Campus. This position will typically work 18 to 30 hours per week. POSITION SUMMARY: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories. PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM: The Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Graduates will obtain a diploma in Practical Nursing and may then be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) used to obtain nursing licensure in Tennessee. Practical Nursing is entry-level nursing. Graduates are prepared with the background and skills to give knowledgeable, basic nursing care to patients with varying degrees of physical needs. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.

Job Summary
The Dean of Students Office is hiring a part time Accommodations Support Advocate who is responsible for developing accommodation plans for students with disabilities as well as providing support for those students when they are experiencing barriers to their success.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>To develop and provide accommodation plans, this individual will:</li>
<li>Communicate with prospective students and their families about the process for requesting accommodations;</li>
<li>Assess student accommodation requests;</li>
<li>Engage students in an interactive process to develop accommodation plans;</li>
<li>Determine appropriate accommodations through review of documentation from medical, psychological, and educational professionals and the utilization of professional judgment;</li>
<li>Collaborate with faculty and staff on best practices related to accessibility and disability support.</li>
<li>Assist with accommodation testing at the Oak Ridge campus.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education, or a related field from an accredited college or university required. Experience providing accommodations to individuals with disabilities. Demonstrated ability to provide support to individuals experiencing difficult situations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of legal issues and relevant state and federal laws related to higher education and student affairs administration (including FERPA, ADA, Clery, and Title IX). Ability to work independently, take personal initiative, and work within a team-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others in the development and delivery of programs across multiple areas. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to write concisely and professionally.
